Doctor Emmett Brown arrived in the DeLorean with the receiver secured beside him. Three silver Tesla Roadsters followed. ELIEN MUSK and AnonBanger stepped out of the first, Grok Bot and the MAGA Special Officer from the second. Optimus Prime unfolded from the third while Groklet climbed out beside him. Under the parking lights, they set up the equipment. Optimus Prime lowered the heavy rack onto its supports while Groklet helped AnonBanger mark a clear test area. The MAGA Special Officer checked the lot and kept watch near the entrance. ELIEN MUSK walked the marked route with Doctor Emmett Brown before returning to the controls. “We open it with the cars empty,” ELIEN MUSK said. “First we find out what’s on the other side.” Grok Bot linked the three Roadsters to the receiver. A green line steadied on the oscilloscope, and a familiar voice broke through the static. “Starbase Control. We have your signal.” Doctor Emmett Brown turned a dial. The air beyond the parked Roadsters shimmered. A narrow blue ring appeared above the asphalt, widened, then twisted sideways. For an instant, sunlight flashed through it. The receiver crackled. ELIEN MUSK released the control, and the ring vanished. Nobody moved. Doctor Emmett Brown examined the readings. “We reached the right year, but the opening won’t hold.” ELIEN MUSK replayed the test beside the original flight recordings. The first Roadster had responded before the others. “They crossed together when we arrived. We’re asking them to do it separately now.” Grok Bot checked the timing. “Three separate activation commands.” ELIEN MUSK pointed to the first pulse. “Give them one shared countdown.” While Grok Bot made the adjustment, AnonBanger watched the readings from all three cars. Groklet placed the original recording beside the new trace so ELIEN MUSK could compare them. Behind the rack, Optimus Prime tightened a loose support. One familiar voice said, “Steady.” The other replied, “I’m holding the same rack.” Doctor Emmett Brown glanced over his shoulder, then looked at ELIEN MUSK. “I have several questions.” ELIEN MUSK smiled. “We’ll need another evening.” The second countdown began. This time, all three Roadsters answered together. Blue light swept across the parking lines. The ring opened slowly, its edges trembling before settling into a broad circle. Beyond it stood a sunlit service lane, industrial buildings and the unmistakable steel shape of Starship. AnonBanger leaned toward the monitor. “That’s Starbase.” Doctor Emmett Brown stared through the opening, his hand resting on the receiver. “Great Scott.” ELIEN MUSK kept everyone behind the marked line. With Grok Bot beside him, he extended a small inspection camera through the opening on a long pole. The picture stayed clear. Starbase Control confirmed the view from the other side. When ELIEN MUSK drew the camera back, it returned intact. They let the opening close. For a moment, the only sound was the cooling equipment. Then Groklet broke into a grin. “It worked.” ELIEN MUSK crouched beside him. “It did. Now we prepare the cars.” Doctor Emmett Brown pulled his notebook closer and began writing so quickly that AnonBanger laughed. ELIEN MUSK picked up his Diet Coke in his right hand and looked across the three silver Roadsters. Forty-one years away, Starbase knew where to meet them.
