They’ve disallowed it based on the 1st image alone. But, either by choice or negligence they’ve not taken the next phase ruling (in the 2nd & 3rd images) into consideration. After the ‘save’ Johnson is onside, as he is when the second Hull defender deliberately plays the ball.

Subjective offside is breaking football. By replacing clear lines with arbitrary interpretations of "intent" and "impact," IFAB Law 11 gives officials a blank cheque to retrofit narratives and rule out valid goals.

After VAR review, the referee overturned the original decision of goal to Everton – with Johnson in an offside position and deemed to be challenging an opponent for the ball.
REF: “Everton No.22 is in an offside position and challenges Hull No.3. Final decision is offside.”
