One way likely senator-elect @scott_colom can immediately prove he is for real upon taking office: be a Dem co-sponsor on a carry reciprocity bill.
It is absurd that someone in, e.g., California can pay $500 to $2000 for a carry permit, then it isn't even valid in Illinois or New York. States should, at minimum, honor the permits of other states if they are not willing to go all the way on constitutional carry.
And I'm sure his constituents in Mississippi would appreciate not needing more than one permit too when they travel.

I both mad and jealous. Democrats did the thing in red states that Republicans always hope to do in blue states, and they did it with ease. They brought back all their 2024 presidential election voters to vote in 2026, plus won a few more total new voters. That's how you win a Trump +18 state by 5 points. Graham only lost 114K or so voters from Tim Scott's 26 point 2022 win. Andrews added 415,000.
