This weekend I decided to spend it with my man. No plans, no noise, just us. He came home and didn’t say anything at first. Just set his keys down and looked at me like he was still deciding if he was allowed to want this. I was already barefoot in his kitchen, wearing one of his shirts. The collar slipped off my shoulder when I turned. He crossed the room, slid his hand under the fabric at my waist, and rested his forehead against mine. His thumb moved slow against my skin. Not urgent. Just making sure I was real. “I thought about this all day,” he said quietly. “Not the sex. Just… coming home to you still being here.” I kissed the corner of his mouth. “I’m still here.” He exhaled like he’d been holding it for hours, then pulled me closer until there was no space left between us. Outside, the rain started. Inside, neither of us moved for a long time.
