Yeah, gave Phantom Blade Zero another chance. It's a bad game. I'll go as far as to say objectively bad game. This will prolly be another Shadow of the Erdtree situation, where people are all hyped in the beginning cause that's what you're supposed to do! But then as that new car smell fades, you'll see more and more people coming out and picking apart exactly why it sucks. I died for like 2 hours fighting the Tiger Vanguard in Wukong, and felt satisfied after I killed him the first time, because I was able to tell what I did wrong and what I needed to improve on. That simply put does not exist in Phantom Blade Zero. The way they've broken up the blue and red attacks is terrible too. Blue attacks, you don't actually want to parry right away, you want to wait a half second or so, otherwise you block and get stamia broken. Red dodge, well, good luck. What ultimately made me throw in the towel just now was the last run against a boss that you can ONLY damage him post-red or blue attack, on THREE occasions on a SINGLE run, enemy did a red attack, I dodged, and instead of getting the animation to start my assault, I did a basic animation dodge, and while I avoided the attack I didn't get my window to damage. Three times. Fucking. Three. Why did that happen? I don't know. I just do not know. I could not even begin to form a guess. The game doesn't tell me. I have no way of knowing. Like so many of the boss attacks, it's just a guessing game. That's not good game design. I don't care how good the music is or how fancy the animations are, it's a gold ribbon around a turd. Especially coming off Onimusha, this thing just sucks.
