Russia has won the war. The Western gambit to use Ukraine as a battering ram to defeat Russia has failed. Trump’s belated shuttle diplomacy is just window dressing to distract from the growing realization that Russia has achieved a historic victory over NATO and its proxy army. NATO’s threat to Russia will no longer be tolerated. Russia has successfully fought off sanctions and the combined forces of NATO, as the Europeans squandered billions supporting Zelensky’s military regime. And Russia has taken back Novorossiya, the four Eastern oblasts that Lenin extrajudicially incorporated into the Ukrainian Soviet Republic. Sooner or later, for the sake of their economies, the Europeans will have to come to terms with Russia and resume normal, mutually beneficial relations. After many years of zero diplomacy, the Finnish and Norwegian leaders initiated a call to Putin - possibly heralding a new era of peace in Europe.

#FOMC maintains rates as expected. Here's the rundown and my commentary. They claim economic activity is expanding at a "strong" pace. I'd call it a decent pace, not strong. Real GDP growth for 2026 is forecast for 2-3%. "Strong" would be 4%+ IMO. Uncertainty is blamed on geopolitical events, and midterms not mentioned. I think midterms are a bigger deal over the last 2 months now, than the Iran non-war. Consumer spending is "resilient," despite elevated inflation, deportations, and tariffs. Important to say, and true IMO. Productivity growth is "strong" and capital investment is "robust." While true, this masks any fragility to this story. Capital investment, driven by AI investing, is weakening. Unemployment rate is stable. I think this is important because of those things mentioned above, inflation, deportations, and tariffs. Youth underemployment is a growing problem IMO. Hilariously, they name the dissenters, and among them is Lisa Cook. She's the one you committed massive mortgage fraud and Trump is at SCOTUS trying to fire her "for cause." I think the executive will eventually win that battle, and Fed independence will be radically altered.

$STRC is inching toward par. Only question now is, how long will it hold par when they start pumping out issuance and buying bitcoin? Excited to find out!

#FOMC today. Decision drops at 2pm ET. Fed Funds are pricing in 90% chance of maintaining current range. It's highly unlikely that they surprise the current market with a hike. And a surprise cut is also highly unlikely due to the proximity to the election. Yields have cooled off from their September highs as forecasted here. PCE inflation is stable though elevated. Trimmed-mean PCE is slowly falling, currently at 2.2% YoY, and 1.9% MoM. Simply no reason to hike or cut. The easiest job in the world is that of a voting member of the FOMC. Just do what's priced in and predict steadily approaching your long-term goals.

🔥🇺🇸 "RED WAVE" Told you. The red wave is coming. This is the last election the democrats could have scratched back some power. They're finished. Marxists lost, conservatives won. God bless America.
Big, beautiful red wave incoming in Texas. Republicans are decimating democrats just as expected. The Reddit bros must live in a bubble surrounded by their dreamy “polls.” No, Talarico is not winning. No, Abbott is not losing. No, there’s no blue wave. Wake up!

🇨🇳 Shanghai with TFR of 0.6 and Beijing of 0.7 are population sink holes, consuming China's future. The working-age population is declining more than 7 million per year, soon to be 10 million per year. An absolute disaster.
TFR of Mainland China 2025. Now all provinces except Heilongjiang has published birth data, so we can obtain an estimate of Heilongjiang's numbers as well.

I don't think the market cares much about the actual financial solvency of Strategy. It doesn't affect the share price or the preferred prices. AI companies are in the red, with trillions of investment needed and no obvious path to profitability, yet they're being valued over $1T. STRC is stuck $99-$99.5. They could even issue STRC at this level and it'd say there.
Strategy has repurchased $205M of $STRC. As of 10/25/26, we hold 848,517 $BTC and $5.1B of USD Assets. $MSTR strategy.com/press/strategy-…

🇧🇷 PREDICTION MARKETS WRONG AGAIN In this case, prediction markets were significantly right on the real vote breakdown, but failed to predict the extent of cheating. In the prediction markets for the US midterms, they're failing for another reason, they are relatively cheap propaganda. In both cases, these are market failures due to complex incentives.

China‘s earnings estimates do precisely what I expected it to do: they collapse. For instance, battery giant CATL started Q3 earnings season with a big miss. Why? Because the CCP’s investment-led growth model continues to create overcapacity everywhere which leads to a race-to-the-bottom mentality among companies fighting for survival by lowering prices for everything - a deflationary spiral. Meanwhile consumer demand collapsed as China remains in the middle of a prolonged balance sheet recession as explained below due to its property bust. It’s a toxic cocktail of a protracted consumption slump and a race-to-the-bottom mentality among businesses across industries - a disaster.
China is experiencing a balance sheet recession on a scale the world has never seen before. Economist Richard Koo coined the term to explain Japan’s stagnation in the 1990s. At its core, it describes a collective shift in economic behaviour: households and companies prioritise repairing their balance sheets over spending, borrowing and investing, even at near-zero interest rates. The result is chronically weak aggregate demand, against which conventional monetary policy loses much of its effectiveness. It is not merely a financial problem. It is a profound shift in economic psychology. Deeply structural and profoundly scary. It is also the key reason I don’t buy the copper “supercycle” narrative. China accounts for roughly 50% of global copper consumption, much of it historically tied to construction and infrastructure. Nothing can compensate for a structural collapse in that demand. Not even close. Nor can the West afford the much-advertised “green transition” at the scale and speed promised. By now, much of it has become a face-saving exercise for bureaucrats in Brussels, increasingly divorced from economic and fiscal reality. It won’t survive the rebellion in government bond markets, already visible in French sovereign debt. In that sense, many European governments face their own balance sheet constraints, although these are not balance sheet recessions in Koo’s original sense. When the AI mania finally slows, copper, among others, will nosedive. For now, the scramble to front-run US tariffs and the speculative demand it generates keep the mirage alive. It won’t last forever.

Pretty much. As of the past few weeks, debt markets have almost entirely shut off access to money for any company that doesn’t have substantial revenue independent of AI data centers. SpaceX closed $40B of debt for GPUs, but we’re investment grade and have Starlink & launch revenue. That means the 200+ neoclouds are going to see guppy-level death and consolidation. Some will make it through, but not many.
