Similar if not the identical to the Skydio drones sought by Minneapolis & St Paul police departments — defeated in Minneapolis and expansion blocked by Free Palestine Coalition organizing.
🚨HORRIFIC : The terrifying reality of life in Gaza. Israeli quadcopters hover over civilians in Gaza City’s Tuffah neighborhood, near the Yellow Line, descending at times to low altitudes to surveil and film civilians. They can also open fire or detonate explosives without warning.

St. Paul's PD's plans to use DOJ grant to expand Skydio drone program on pause: “This item is being withdrawn,” St. Paul Council President Rebecca Noecker said.“It's being withdrawn because this council does not support an expansion of our drone program until a number of questions and concerns are addressed, and we will not be authorizing the police department to apply.”

Angie Cisneros Rosero of the Minnesota Immigrant Rights Action Committee (MIRAC) took the mic for the day's final word, “Let us remember the strength in our broken hearts. They see us united. They see people who continue to fight even with tears in their eyes. The problem is not that people don't care. We need collective power. Power so strong that the system can no longer govern in the same way. The only way we will see justice, is if we the people organize and make it happen.” fightbacknews.org/articles/t…

An important win for BDS in Minneapolis! 🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸
An applause erupted in the Minneapolis City Council gallery as council didn't have enough votes to approve a contract with drone manufactuer Skydio. A 6-6 tie means the first responders drone pilot program failed.

Every time I hear “material support for terrorism” I remember when the DoJ tried to force the #AntiWar23 to testify to a grand jury. They tried to make speech itself ‘material support!’ Opposing the #GazaGenocide is not a crime! I stand in solidarity with Fergie Chambers!
Solidarity is not a crime! FRSO statement on the arrest and extradition of Fergie Chambers Full Statement: frso.org/statements/solidari… The Freedom Road Socialist Organization condemns the unjust arrest and the U.S. Department of Justice’s extradition attempt of Fergie Chambers, a progressive philanthropist and steadfast supporter of the Palestinian cause. He was dragged away from his family in Spain on dubious charges ranging from money laundering to material support for terrorism. If extradited to the U.S., he could be facing decades in prison. Chambers is a son of billionaires who made the legitimate choice long ago to direct his funds towards progress, from free medical clinics to legal defense for activists facing repression. Now, the Trump DOJ is fabricating a narrative of terrorist financing. They want to create an upside-down world and twist the legal system so that humanitarian aid and solidarity land you behind bars, but the architects of the ongoing genocide in Gaza walk free. Ultimately, they want to use every avenue to squash and punish the tidal wave of support for the cause of Palestinian liberation that has stretched to every corner of the globe. We are in a period of intensifying repression, and the imperialists are constantly in search of new ways to crush resistance and silence opposition. And that means that people like Chambers who use their resources to amplify the voices that call for freedom and liberation become targets, too. All those who oppose the Trump administration’s crackdown on our movements and the erosion of democratic rights need to stand against this. Solidarity is not a crime!

Meredith Aby, the WAMM director, explains, “After a year of attending board meetings, meeting with board members, petitioning and calling, we are angered that, despite Waterfall being an Israeli company that works hand in hand with Israel in its genocide of the Palestinian people, Saint Paul wants to expand and extend their contract. The new proposed contract will be $153,611.74 and for five years. They proposed this knowing that their constituents do not support genocide.” fightbacknews.org/articles/s…

Solidarity with Nadia and @CentroCSO
"Nadia did nothing wrong. All she did was exercise her right to speak out against the violence being perpetrated against her Chicano and Latino immigrant community. I am from Puerto Rico, and the Puerto Rican movement has been subjected again and again to grand juries. We know that grand juries are a prosecutorial tool to produce indictments instead of justice." fightbacknews.org/articles/c…
