These YouTube channels referring to discoveries and published papers as "buffs", "nerfs", and "updates" is exactly why a lot of professional scientists coined the term "The fandomization of paleontology."
This sort of language really miscommunicates how science works.
I didn't have one specific paleoart influence. My idea of the prehistoric world as a kid was shaped by 3 different artists: Neil Lloyd and Graham Rosewarne during my childhood to adolescence, and Davide Bonadonna during my teenage years.

I can't even fit all of it here. I also started the "Allosaurus attacking everything" meme, the "Dodo scientific name = Doseph Doestar" meme, and I contributed to the Wumpus Gore Trend too.
My 5yo nephew is obsessed with Godzilla and Kaiju and asked me how I knew who Rodan was. I told him I used to watch old Toho movies back when we still had cable because, you know, I'm older than him. And then he went "Bruh."
I am working on a commission right now, but I'd like to post this reminder that even a cheap $15 commission to someone like me will basically pay for almost 2 weeks worth of groceries. Or it will cover the internet/water bill immediately.
Some of the responses to this are baffling. You know some people are using cheats to give themselves super credits and unfairly advance the numbers during Major Orders, right? "Why don't you fix your game and then we'll stop using those mods" is a pretty disingenuous response.
