Last night Trump said he could have won Vietnam in a week. His plan was “going after Ho Chi Minh City.”
Ho Chi Minh City was Saigon, the capital of South Vietnam. Our ally. The enemy’s capital was Hanoi. We bombed it.
He called the presidents who fought that war stupid, then explained how he’d have won it by attacking our own side.
58,220 Americans died in that war. Trump got five deferments. Now he’s telling the rest of us how easy it would have been.
He’s had more than fifty years to learn which side we were on. He still hasn’t. That alone should disqualify him from sending anybody else’s kids to war.
Instead, he’s weighing more strikes on Iran after Tuesday. His administration has reportedly considered using the “mother of all bombs,” the one he calls “like a tiny nuclear bomb.”
The man who thinks we should have bombed our ally’s capital gets to choose the targets.

Als jij denkt dat de VVD jouw problemen gaat oplossen, heb je geen echte problemen.
Vraag voor juristen: mijn hosting provider weigert mijn domeinnaam vrij te geven en zegt dat ik mijn hele jaar uit moet zitten. Ik heb dat domein echter al jaren. Gelden hier de abonnementsregels en dus inmiddels een opzegtermijn van één maand?

Stelt u zich eens voor dat een moslim dit had uitgekraamd, dergelijk religieus extremisme. Of zich als baarmoederloze opinies over onderdelen had aangemeten die hij alleen van horen zeggen kent.

Die ambtenarenlawine is er voor een belangrijk deel gekomen vanwege de door de VVD zo innig geliefde decentralisatie, waarbij u mensen in baantjes houdt om in iedere gemeente apart het wiel uit te gaan zitten vinden.
Alle sectoren in Nederland komen mensen te kort. Ondertussen groeit de overheid maar door. Steeds meer ambtenaren, zonder dat Nederland daar beter van wordt.
Onze staatssecretaris @ericvanderburg bij Eva over het belang van een kleiner ambtenarenapparaat. Een kleinere, effectievere overheid die zuinig omgaat met belastinggeld.

Meghan was advised by police and her lawyers not to speak publicly about the disturbing allegations against her father while they were under investigation. She went no contact to protect her children, then faced years of attacks for “abandoning” him. Now people are criticising her for not publicly repeating those previously unsubstantiated claims, even though the police already knew and it was their job to handle them.
No one is asking Beatrice and Eugenie to address what they must have known about their father’s ties to Epstein: that he lied in the Newsnight interview about cutting all contact with Epstein after 2010, that he hosted Epstein at Beatrice’s 18th birthday in 2006 (two months after a US arrest warrant for sexual assault of a minor), or that their mother took both of them to lunch with him days after his 2009 release for soliciting a minor. And neither Beatrice nor Eugenie has cut their father off.
Funny how the double standard works.
