Good luck today to our Girls Tennis Team @Apfalconstennis as they begin post season play today in Waterloo!
A-P girls tennis puts up a solid 2-7 battle with one-loss Independence, lots of close matches. We’re improving every week.

Very respectable start for our girls against a team with much more varsity experience than us. So many close matches after only 3 outdoor practices.

Ready or not, the 26-27 seasons have kicked off. Girls tennis vs. Oelwein. First match of the year..
Our girls opened with Oelwein tonight & it was the first time playing varsity or any tennis meet for nearly our whole team. We battled so hard in the heat but came up just short, 4-5. Still a nice start for our very new group! We’ve got 4 meets scheduled for the rest of the week.
Coaches vote Tyler as a third-team All State selection. We also finished 11th in the final team rankings poll.

Awesome two days of tennis from this kid….made for a great ending to my first season as head coach. Tyler & the rest of AP Tennis have a bright future.
Tyler Wedeking takes home a 6th place finish as a sophomore in the 2026 1A State Singles Tournament. He is the first boys singles/doubles medalist from A-P since Cam Luhring’s title in 2021. Great season for Tyler and all of A-P boys tennis!
Tyler Wedeking with another W in the state tournament! He takes down Daoust of Shenandoah, 7-6 6-2.
He will play Bennett Link of Xavier for 5th/6th at 12:00.
Tyler Wedeking improves on his win from the first matchup, knocking out Grinnell’s Freeman by a 6-3 6-0 score! He’ll be back tomorrow for a 5th thru 8th placing.
Tyler gets a third set victory in his first consolation match! We’re set for a rematch from the district final against Freeman of Grinnell, winner goes on to tomorrow and places top 8.
Tyler lost a solid 3-6 5-7 battle to Miller of Wahlert after starting down 0-5. He will play at 1:00 in the consolation.
State Singles today at Byrnes Park in Waterloo! Matches begin at 10 AM for Tyler & a loaded singles/doubles field.

State brackets have been made…Tyler has a tough draw, facing the highest rated District Runner-Up(Chase Miller of Wahlert) in the first round. With a win he’d likely face top-20 nationally ranked Connor Feehan of Assumption. Play begins at 10 AM on Wednesday in Waterloo.

Today’s result wasn’t what we wanted but we still far surpassed our success from last season & you’d be hard pressed to find a younger/more talented top 3 seeds than we have to build on. Keep an eye on this group over the next couple years.
