Your brain is amazing! 🧠 ♻️
After a stroke, parts of the brain die. But rather than give up, your brain can rewire itself to avoid the areas affected by the blood clot or bleed.
Neuroplasticity is the reason recovery can continue well into the future: bit.ly/3LXV8ct

Attended productive Board meeting followed by the @AphasiaSupport AGM. Heard from CEO James Major (pictured) on successes and challenges over the year; and staff, members and supporters fed in some great ideas on #fundraising & recruiting more #volunteers – at Macclesfield, England

We are who we are 🥳regardless of where we were born and what we do.
At the end of the day we ALL matter in this world. Yesterday was National Nonspeaking Nonverbal Awareness Day 🤫 Having suffered set backs with my own speech in recent years I now understand that the spoken word isn’t everything. Actions speak as loud as words. We are lobbying Parliament in October for accessibility to Speech & Language Therapy for all the children who so need it. At the moment these children get virtually no help at all.

Brilliant key-note speech from Prof Marian Brady at #BASConf2023 this morning. Great to see the @AphasiaSupport role (increasing intensity of SLT using computer therapy) is consistently being proven effective in research. ⬆️ Intensity = ⬆️ language outcomes and functional comm 💡
We are so honoured to have Prof Marian Brady @MarianBrady as our wonderful keynote on day 2 of @BASConf2023 @BasAphasia #BASConf23 #BASConf2023 speaking about how research has genuinely influenced development of info tools for aphasia ⚒️

We've had a busy month with the challenge and we've ended up with Ash 364,793, me 424,119 and Annie at least double that and about 1,000,000 tail wags. It's been great fun.
