After 18 months of work, FlightAtlas.org now has a drawing for every rocket launch in history. To celebrate I'll post 70 visual launch overviews over the next month, one for every year from 1957 to 2026 (~2 per day). Hope you guys enjoy!

Wow, over 1,000 mathematicians have now joined the Association for Human Mathematics (AHM), committing to: > NOT publish AI generated math papers > NOT work with frontier labs > 654 of them went even further to NOT even use AI in their research, at all

Every orbital launch attempt NASA ran itself, NASA missions on commercially bought rockets and suborbital flights aren't included. Each rocket is a representative model of its family, not the exact version that flew; every Delta, for example, is shown as the original Thor-Delta.

Every single rocket launch in history: 1983 Sally Ride becomes the first American woman in space and Guion Bluford the first African American. The escape tower of Soyuz T-10-1 pulls its crew clear seconds before a pad explosion, and Spacelab flies for the first time.
Every single rocket launch in story: 1982 Salyut 7 launches, and its first crew stays a record 211 days. The shuttle opens commercial service by deploying two communications satellites, and Venera 13 and Venera 14 return the first color pictures from Venus.

In Japan they trust people to not injure themselves, and that allows them to do away with the expensive and often ugly safetelyism that took over the west. We need to do away with the injury claims and start treating people like grown ups.

Every single rocket launch in history: 1981 The Space Shuttle flies for the first time on 12 April, twenty years to the day after Gagarin, when Columbia carries John Young and Robert Crippen to orbit. In November Columbia becomes the first crewed spacecraft to fly again.

I’m in Japan and the AC goes down to 18c, there are actual shampoo bottles, the trains are clean and run on time, and I can hold my phone out in public without fearing that might get snatched. And Japan does this while being much poorer than the US and than much of Europe.
Replying to @aleshu_ber
I realize most people have very low standards, especially Europeans, and even more so Germans You accept that everything is dirty, broken and the AC doesn't work Because it's same as it is in your country In Asia, Airbnb is still quite good I heard

Our expectations and standards for the level of quality of many things in Europe and America have declined way too much.

That was the 20th post in my “Every single rocket launch in history” series, so here is a poster with the first decade of spaceflight:
Every single rocket launch in history: 1976 Viking 1 and Viking 2 land on Mars, return the first detailed pictures from its surface and test the soil for life, with inconclusive results. Luna 24 brings back the last lunar sample for 44 years.

Or, and hear me out, we just crank up the thermostat. The UK is 0.8% of global CO2 emissions, I think it’s ok if we heat our homes when it’s cold.
