This is hitting the nail on the head. They say "The trinity wasn't there from the beginning" as a way to try and say there was low christology and Jesus was a Muslim. But then you dig into and everyone is calling Jesus God. The only way they are differing is on things like begottenness or what is an attribute of the hupostasis and what is in the ousia etc.
Replying to @MMetaphysician
So, your problem then is only with the formulation of the Trinity as a pronounced doctrine. You acknowledge that mainstream Christians consistently believed in the divinity of Jesus and also affirmed or at leasy implied the divinity of the Holy Spirit. So, where does your Islam fit into this, and even if you established that the Trinity in its Nicene form is a later formulation (which undeniably is consistent with beliefs held centuries before Nicea), what exactly are you even trying to achieve with this nonsense?

I know exactly what you are trying to do, Jake. Most Christian debaters do not see it, but I see it very well. Because I know your thinking and your problem inside out, and I know why you want to go after the Trinity. That is the only place you can go. You deceive your own Muslim followers and listeners by focusing on the pronounced Nicene doctrine of the Trinity. Because the Trinity is the safest place where you can use academic and even church-affirmed opinion of a developed doctrine, and you want to exploit that for your own Islamic narrative by twisting what this development means. It doesn't matter whether the Trinity developed at Nicaea or not. For the sake of the argument, it wouldn't even matter IF the Trinity was invented at Nicaea, which it most certainly was NOT. Because when you falsely say that the Trinity arose in Nicaea, you lead your own audience to believe that the belief in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit emerged in Nicaea in the 300s. You know very well that the belief in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit was mainstream Christianity in the first century, expressed in the Didache, by Ignatius of Antioch, and even affirmed in the New Testament itself. You know very well that, without a shadow of a doubt, mainline Christians from their earliest days believed in the divinity of Jesus and invoked the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. This entirely destroys your Islamic narrative that the followers of Jesus were Islamic believers of Islamic Tawhid. You know very well that all accounts completely refute this narrative. You know very well that academics refute this narrative. You know very well that your own eyes and your own ears refute this narrative. But you don't want to admit it, which is why you want to distract from it and focus on the strict formulation of the Trinitarian doctrine at Nicea. We both know that Islam doesn't fit anywhere into the early history of Christianity. We both know that the followers of Jesus believed that he is God, and that the vast majority of Christians believed in the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. You cannot handle this fact, as it destroys your Islamic narrative, which is why you want to focus on Nicea even when your dumb revisionist perspective completely fails there as well. Islam is a distortion of the truth and you happily lie for it. You will never actually debate this topic.
No, you truly are retarded though. I'm talking about when I focused in on individuals that you listed, you didn't respond and then just mentioned someone else from the list. You're a clown. Keep running from the debate.

It is impossible to argue that criticism of Islam and criticism of Christianity are treated equally by the authorities. Christian street preachers are being arrested at an alarming rate across the country, often following vexatious complaints and the misapplication of the Public Order Act 1986. Stephen Gray, an FSU member and former police officer of 27 years, was convicted of sending a “grossly offensive” communication under the Communications Act 2003 after reposting a joke about the Prophet Muhammad on Facebook. The image showed a man wearing a turban alongside a rasher of bacon, with the caption: “Fun facts about bacon! People who eat bacon have a lower chance of marrying a nine-year-old!” It referred to the Prophet Muhammad’s marriage to a nine-year-old. Two police officers went to Stephen’s home. He was left with a criminal record and a £1,100 fine. As Stephen has said, if he had made a joke about the Catholic Church, the response would have been very different. John Cleese has also been referred to Prevent over comments about Islam on social media. Prevent is the Government’s counter-terrorism programme. Would he have been referred for posting critical comments about Christianity? Obviously not. Parliament abolished blasphemy laws in 2008. In a free society, no religion should receive greater protection than another, or be shielded from legitimate criticism, debate or challenge.
Does criticising Islam carry more legal risk than criticising Christianity? Speaking at The Spectator's Free Speech debate, Lord Sumption insists that the law treats both equally, notwithstanding 'erratic cases' of policing he blames on poor training. I don't understand why everyone is so outraged over the Mecca executions. This is what they do. This is islamic sharia law in practice. I despise it of course, but unlike most of you I don't pretend to be shocked. This is literally how their religion works, especially in Mecca. I'm a lot more surprised that some of you seem to think sharia law is some kind of compassionate and empathetic legal system that is supposed to spare people. It's like you haven't paid attention at all.
