Your fall camera roll could use a few more of these. 🍁📸
There’s still time to get outside, catch some color, and enjoy crisp fall days with AMC.
Make a weekend of it: outdoors.org/destinations/bo…
Hiking buddies.
New skills.
New trails.
A stronger voice for protecting the outdoors.
That’s AMC membership.
And the bonus benefits are pretty good, too. 👀

This is See the Dark 🌲☀️🔭✨
Morning walks, art-making, time on the water, good food, and nights spent looking up in AMC’s International Dark Sky Park. A festival full of nature, science, and hands-on discovery from sun up to stars out. 🌌
Is 13 unlucky? Not around here. 🍀🍂

Have fun. Manage risk. Leave it better. 🌲⚒️
In 2026, AMC and @NOLSedu are partnering on 15 Wilderness Medicine courses. Recently, that collaboration moved from the classroom to the trail with a stewardship day at the Highland Center. Shared values, put into action. 💚
I Spy: moose edition 👀🔍🫎
AMC Forest Manager Carolyn Ziegra captured this bird’s-eye view of the Maine Woods. Look closely and you might spot two big bull moose out in the bog. Can you find them?
Fall looks good on you. 🍂

The first measurable snowfall of the season was recorded yesterday (October 5th), with 0.7" of snow measured over the last 24 hours. The snow was accompanied by thick rime ice, subzero wind chills, and a peak wind gust of 110 mph!
Proof that hikers have always known the value of a good snack break. 😌🥪
This group was doing exactly that along the Crawford Path in the 1930s.
What’s your go-to trail snack? Tell us in the comments. 👇
If you needed a sign to go leaf peeping, this is it. 🍁

The little kiosk that could. 🌲
Built, cut, and painted in Maine by longtime AMC sign maker George Brown → handed off in NH → transported through MA → and installed in NJ, this AMC trail kiosk had quite the journey.
Step one: learn to canoe. Step two: learn how to get back in. 😂🛶
This 1975 photo captures canoe instruction at Ponkapoag Camp in the Blue Hills Reservation just south of Boston. It’s long been a place to learn outdoor skills, spend time together, and get outside near the city.
👀 Did someone say new trail?
AMC is opening a newly realigned section of Falling Waters Trail! After 2 years, thousands of work hours, and a 32-step staircase nicknamed “Megacase,” the new route improves safety and sustainability while preserving waterfall access.
And just like that, the AMC 150 Relay has reached the finish line. 🎉
To everyone who carried the flag, cheered it on, and became part of the story: thank you. 💚

In coastal Maine, AMC members and volunteers traded trailheads for tide charts and carried the 150 relay flag by sea kayak. 🌊
Thank you to the paddlers who made this stretch of the relay so special. 💚
