On Cyprus Missing Persons Day, we remember those still missing & their families who have endured over half a century of anguish and uncertainty.
Their suffering remains an open wound. 🇨🇾 will not rest until the fate of every missing person is established.
Ημέρα Αγνοουμένων Κύπρου, 29η Οκτωβρίου.
Ό,τι και αν πούμε, τα λόγια είναι πάρα πολύ φτωχά για να αποδώσουν τα αισθήματα που μάς κατακλύζουν κάθε φορά που αγγίζουμε το ανθρωπιστικό δράμα των αγνοουμένων μας, αυτή την ανοικτή πληγή της κυπριακής τραγωδίας, που αιμορραγεί για περισσότερο από μισό αιώνα.
Οι σύζυγοι, τα παιδιά, τα αδέλφια των αγνοουμένων μας, και κυρίως οι απαρηγόρητοι γονείς, είναι τα θύματα αυτού του εγκλήματος, που γίνεται πιο βασανιστικό, χρόνο με τον χρόνο, μέρα με τη μέρα, ειδικά για τους μεγαλύτερους σε ηλικία, που αγωνιούν καθημερινά να ακούσουν ένα μαντάτο τους αγαπημένους τους προτού φύγουν από τη ζωή.
Αυτή η προσπάθεια δεν θα τερματιστεί, η συνείδησή μας ποτέ δεν θα ησυχάσει εάν δεν διακριβώσουμε την τύχη και του τελευταίου αγνοούμενου μας. Η πατρίδα έχει το ηθικό χρέος να λύσει αυτό τον δεσμό που ανέτρεψε τις ζωές εκατοντάδων οικογενειών και θρυμμάτισε τα όνειρα χιλιάδων ανθρώπων, που ποτέ δεν θα μπορέσουν να συμφιλιωθούν με την απώλεια.

Following a decision by the Council of Ministers, the Republic of Cyprus, through CyprusAid, in close cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Health, has undertaken to provide humanitarian assistance to Lebanon.
The value of the assistance amounts to approximately €200,000.
The shipment, comprising a total of 31 containers carrying pharmaceutical products and medical consumables, departed from the Port of Limassol on 26 July 2026 and has already arrived at the Port of Beirut.
Since the beginning of the year, the total humanitarian assistance provided by the Republic of Cyprus to Lebanon has reached €840,000.
Furthermore, through CyprusAid, scholarships will be awarded to Lebanese nationals during September. These will include both short-term scholarships for seminars and training programmes organised by CyprusAid, as well as longer-term scholarships for studies at Higher Education Institutions in Cyprus.
