They have started to act. They read data, call tools, change records, publish content, and move funds. And when something goes wrong, the first question is no longer โ€œWhat did the AI say?โ€ It is: Who authorized this, what did it actually do, and can any of it be proven? So merely saving the final output is not governance. The output is only the ending. The trust problem lives in the chain behind it. Recently, discussions about who is responsible when AI goes wrong have only grown louder, and the focus is quietly shifting: no longer just whether the final document was correct, but back to the specific scenario โ€” how much autonomy the agent had at the time, whether the risk was foreseeable, whether control was real, and whether the process can actually be reconstructed. Actum breaks this test into four chains. They are not four separate ledgers, but four questions about the same action: Who proposed the task, who approved it, who maintains the rules, what data could it read, what tools could it call, could it publish directly, when did temporary permission expire, and who could stop it in an emergency? A verbal instruction is not a boundary. A checkable permission is. Three things that are often blurred together must be kept apart: what the model suggested, what a human decided, and what the system actually executed. Retrieval, generation, tool calls, human edits, retries, and the final action all matter, because two outputs that look exactly the same can have completely different histories. One was checked against the latest price list before it was sent. The other was sent automatically from an expired cache. The files are identical. The accountability is not. A hash can only tell you whether data has been changed. It cannot prove that the data was true before it was recorded. Real evidence links together the original logs, the model, plugin, and knowledge-base versions in use at the time, the approval record, the API responses, and the alert history. Where a record is missing, that gap must be marked honestly, not quietly filled in by reasoning backwards from todayโ€™s configuration. Recording everything, forever, creates a second problem. Customer data, access tokens, cookies, and intermediate results should not be written indiscriminately into ordinary logs. The evidence itself needs rules: which fields are kept, who can access them, how long they are retained, and when they are deleted. The authorization chain sets the boundary, the behavior chain tells the story, the evidence chain makes it verifiable, and the compliance chain guards the bottom line. This is exactly what Actum is building: a Behavioral Trust Layer for AI, where human behavior is verifiable and records are immutable. Not merely proof that an agent was once granted authorization, but proof of what it did, step by step, after it received that authorization. Trust in the next stage of AI will not belong to the agent that sounds the most confident.

This week, two launches tried to answer the same question. iProov's HAPS: a signed, single-use credential that proves a human approved this exact action. Change one detail โ€” the amount, the destination โ€” and the credential dies. World ID for Agents: a cryptographic check that a real, unique human stands behind the agent. Both are real progress. Both answer: who authorized this? Neither answers what happens next. Approval is a moment. Behavior is a trail. The credential proves the human said yes. It says nothing about the chain of actions that followed โ€” or whether the outcome matched the intent. The industry is solving the front door. Nobody is filming the hallway. That's the gap. A verifiable record of behavior โ€” what was done, in what order, with what result โ€” tied back to the human who authorized it. Identity says who sent the agent. Authorization says what it was allowed to do. Behavior says what it actually did. Two of the three now have infrastructure. The third is the one we're building.
An AI agent can now prove who sent it. Proof's x401 gives agents a verified identity and a signed record of what a human authorized. x402 lets them pay in USDC. Identity: handled. Payments: handled. So why do we still not trust them? Because authorization is a snapshot. Behavior is the film. A signature proves what an agent was allowed to do at 9:00. It says nothing about what the agent actually did at 9:05. This week, Liquibase put numbers on the gap: 96.5% of companies say AI now touches their production databases. Only 32% keep an audit-ready record of the changes. We are building agents that can prove their permission โ€” and cannot prove their conduct. Trust doesn't live in the permission slip. It lives in the verifiable history of behavior. That's the layer that still doesn't exist at scale. That's the layer we're building.

An AI agent can now prove it was allowed to act. It still canโ€™t prove what it actually did. Authorization is a snapshot. Behavior is the film. A signed permission at 9:00 tells you what the agent was allowed to do. It says nothing about the sequence of decisions it made at 9:05, which data it trusted, where a human intervened, or what the real-world outcome was. As agents move from answering questions to operating systems, modifying production databases, and controlling physical processes, this gap becomes the critical failure point. When something goes wrong, most teams still canโ€™t reconstruct a clean, independently verifiable chain of events. They have logs. They donโ€™t have evidence. This is the same problem aviation solved decades ago. A pilotโ€™s license doesnโ€™t explain a crash. The flight recorder does. It captures what happened, in order, with enough integrity that outsiders can check it. AI agents are entering the same phase. The more autonomous they become, the more they need a behavioral record that can be audited after the fact, not just an execution log that the system itself controls. The companies that close this loop will have something models alone canโ€™t deliver: a continuous, verifiable feedback signal from real actions and real outcomes. Everyone else will keep generating more output while remaining unable to prove what actually occurred. Generation is getting cheaper. Proof of what happened is still scarce. Thatโ€™s the layer Proof of Human Action (PoHA) is built to provide: an immutable record that links authorization, the actions that were actually taken, and the outcomes that followed. Not another claim. Not another log. Evidence that can be checked independently. Can your agents show their work? #Actum #POHA #IndustrialDePIN #VerifiedBehavior

The biggest challenge with AI isnโ€™t just what it can do, but whether we can trust what it claims to have done. @ACTUM_SYSTEM PoHA introduces a new foundation for accountability by turning real human actions into verifiable evidence. Instead of relying on polished reports or unverified claims, AI systems can learn from what actually happened in the physical world. The future belongs to systems that donโ€™t just deliver results, but can prove how those results were achieved. Show-me AI, not Trust-me AI. #ACTUM
Weโ€™re standing at a fork. One path leads into darkness: Claims Without Proof. AI agents can mark tasks complete, generate polished reports, and automate workflows, yet when something goes wrong, there is no clear record of the action that took place, who authorized or performed it, whether the process was followed, or whether the result was verified by a human. The other path is lit: Proof of Human Action (PoHA). PoHA doesnโ€™t replace AI. It creates an immutable evidence layer from real human actions in the physical world, especially in industrial operations and maintenance so AI can learn from verified reality instead of unverified claims or static datasets. The next advantage wonโ€™t come from bigger models or better demos. It will come from systems that can prove what really happened. Show-me AI, not Trust-me AI.
