It’s too early to say what the Russian people make of Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, but he’s already lost a few celebrities. Most of these guys rely heavily on the state for their living.
A short thread.

God of peace, be present with the people of Ukraine.
God of justice, bring an end to suffering, death, and evil.
I’m not ready for a world without Tim. I know it would be his gain if God ultimately brought Him home through this, but it would certainly be our loss. Praying for his health and peace and for God to let us keep him down here with us a whole while longer.
Oh snap. I needed that.
What God does in us as we wait is often much more important than what we are waiting for.

Me to clients: Self care is respecting your needs and honoring the fact that you’re allowed to take up space too.
Also me at lunch: eats applesauce with a fork, because those are the only two things I had in my desk and I didn’t pack lunch bc was too busy getting kids ready😬😅
My kids told me yesterday about practicing for an intruder drill at school.
My heart broke into a million pieces.
I knew these were a thing….but those are MY kids they’re teaching how to hide & be quiet properly and that hits a whole different way. 💔
Jesus, come quickly.

The antidote to anxiety about the future
is not to discern the future,
but to remember the past.
Instead of straining your gaze forward,
look over your shoulder
and rehearse God’s faithfulness to you,
and to all generations.

Dear Christian, if an attack on your preferred political party absolutely infuriates you, then your allegiance might be misguided.
Christians don’t have ultimate allegiances to any one of Babylon’s political tribes. Our allegiance is to the Creator’s upside down kingdom.
Just a reminder that there are SO many reasons women don’t report. The broken system is a huge reason. But THIS. Imagine believing the way to survive is to not speak it, but chancing speaking it anyway and not. being. believed. Or being BLAMED.
Could you take that risk?

Many who followed Jesus wanted him to “take their nation back for God.”
But Jesus taught them instead how to take God to their neighbors.
Christ isn’t interested in taking over nations for God. Christ is interested in establishing God’s kingdom through us among all the nations.
What if I told you, you actually need a masters degree and an additional 3,000 post-graduate supervision hours (that you’ll pay for in addition to all that tuition) on top of the practicum& 2 internships you’ll complete in grad school… just so you can be licensed. 🤦🏼♀️😄
Tell me you’ve missed the entire point of who Jesus is without telling me you’ve missed the entire point of who Jesus is…

We don’t build the kingdom of God.
• we announce it.
• we seek it.
• we receive it.
• we bear witness to it.
• “we build for it” (Wright)
God builds it.
I remember a discussion in a seminary class about why Jesus chose to use clay to heal the blind man& wine to heal stomachs when he could have just spoken it. We agreed that perhaps He was showing us the way He provides and cares for us through ordinary, everyday things.
