As millions of people across the country take to the streets and raise their voices in response to the killing of George Floyd and the ongoing problem of unequal justice, I’ve heard many ask how we can sustain momentum to bring about real change.

Let me be clear (a thread): Those "all over the place" feelings you've been having? They are symptoms of stress, NOT personal failures of yours. Do you feel FLAKEY + INCONSISTENT? That's b/c your brain doesn't know what news to brace for next, or what next month will hold.

Since last year's #InternationalPronounsDay, more people added their pronouns on their email signatures and social media profiles. Small actions have big impact. Do a small action today: add your pronouns. #PronounsDay #PronounsDay19 #pronouns #pronounsmatter

Why is it important to pay attention today? The Supreme Court is gearing arguments to decide if weither or not a trans person could be legally fired for being trans. This is not just a “trans issue” a this a human… instagram.com/p/B3W9Z48Bczc/…

Before making a rainbow logo, companies should have to upload health care policies, which should include trans- and queer-inclusive plans for transitioning, all-gender parental leave &c. If your policies don’t support the ideologies you parade, it’s performative marketing. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Trans men, non-binary, and intersex folks who are able to get pregnant are also affected by the abortion ban. Not just cis women.

Using correct identifiers and pronouns isn’t just about accuracy – it’s about affording all individuals the respect and dignity that everyone deserves. By using non-gendered terms and asking for pronouns, we make sure we do not put anyone at risk.
1
Pronouns are a quick way to refer to someone or to ourselves: she, he, they, etc. Pronouns are often (but not always) gendered, meaning they relate to a person’s identity.
Assuming someone’s gender can sometimes lead to misgendering. When trans people are misgendered, they often experience fear, depression, invalidation, and even violence.

I went on a magical journey with my kid (4) at @pipsisland. It’s a whimsical "Escape The Room"for kids. As a #trans dad #nonbinary, it gave me ideas on rules to follow to create things for kids without #genderbias. medium.com/@maxmasure/5-rule… #pipsisland #findyourspark #genderequity

This is what being a woman in politics looks like: Disagreements aren’t labeled as differing opinions. They’re labeled as one’s knowledge being ‘inadequate.’ As a reminder, I’m not the one who testified about Big Pharma under oath to Congress. It was an expert witness.
.@AOC: " Right now, your knowledge of where drugs come from appears to be seriously inadequate. To be fair, you’re definitely not alone in that, but there’s no reason not to learn more.” By @Dereklowe realclearscience.com/2019/02…
