Funny to think about how well-funded Nathan Fielder’s next project is going to be. Dude might actually build an entire model city
It's interesting that fentynal--a powerful, disruptive new technology with rapid adoption--isn't treated as something we all have to accept because it's inevitable.

to use the term "proscribed terrorist organization" as if it is an objective, dispositive description that settles the moral question is to support the UK's insane, unjust law. good on Rooney for taking action to protest that insane, unjust law.
Thousands of likes on this objectively untrue statement.
Sally Rooney's books are not being banned for their content. Sally Rooney's books are not being banned because of a single thing she has said about the Palestinian people.
Her books are no longer being sold because she has explicitly said that her profits would be donated to a proscribed terrorist organization, which is illegal.
She could write a book called "Israel is the most evil, awful, genocidal state that has ever and will ever exist" and donate every pound she earns from selling it to the PRCS or the PCRF and the UK would do nothing.
But she insists upon donating to terrorists. And, unfortunately for Rooney, consequences do exist.
“Very real link to the Muslim Brotherhood”
These are the ravings of marginal lunatics at this point.

Is the Rick Rubin-JayZ situation on HBO a comedy? These two have gotta be the phoniest men in show business. Might have to get stoned and watch this whole thing, every clip in my feed is stupider than the last.

Anti-snobbery is the American snobbery, and just as blinkered and vicious. This is our cultural inheritance from the English Dissenters, and bubbles below all cultural discourse in the U.S.

Two @HoustonISD schools are piloting the Alpha School model this year.
HISD Superintendent Mike Miles tells @nytimes that students initially spent longer than expected on the Alpha apps, eating into time that was supposed to be spent on afternoon enrichment.
My deep dive on the "A.I.-driven" Alpha School, revealing their internal learning and enrollment data for the first time, just as the network expands into public education.
There is a big gap between the marketing and reality.

They’re free. Soldiers took them to a house they occupied, accused them of throwing rocks, interrogated them, then walked them back out to their families waiting outside and released them. “Just a misunderstanding,” one of the soldiers said.

Israeli soldiers just abducted three boys in Turmus’ayya, including a 13-year-old Palestinian American.
Important story about what vanguard psychos in TESCREAL circles are pushing in education. I predict this stuff will have downstream influence on more mainstream voucher boosters. cc: @joshcowenMI
