Heartbreaking 😥. #cutthecrop
'One of our rescue centres currently has five dogs in its care, all with callously cropped ears and various related health & behaviour problems as a result.'

On #WorldSpayDay, we'd like to highlight that the benefits of neutering cats and dogs outweigh any associated welfare risks. Neutering helps prevent the birth of unwanted litters of kittens and puppies and the perpetuation of genetic defects

⚠️ We’re urging all pet owners to take extra care during the warmer weather 🌞 Cars, caravans and conservatories can all heat up very quickly - flat-faced dogs in particular (pugs, bulldogs, frenchies) find it hard to regulate their body temperature 🐶 #LockdownPetcare
*RT please* As temperatures spike across the country, we'd like to remind pet owners that #DogsDieInHotCars. Please spread the word about not leaving a dog in a car in warm weather, as 'not long' can prove too long for our furry friends #petadvice ow.ly/hUkr50zKujT
Please don’t leave your pets in hot cars!

It is still not business as usual for vets. Over the coming days, we'll be developing further advice to help #teamvet interpret the new @10DowningStreet guidance for their own workplaces ow.ly/osOp50zDGgd

Vet nurses play an integral and varied role in a veterinary team- from healthcare advisers and animal welfare ambassadors, to first-line care providers to hospitalised patients. We're proud to support #VNAM2020! @bvnauk #whatVNsdo bvna.org.uk/about-us/veterin…

May - Veterinary Nursing Awareness Month. From outset I valued being part of team of vets & nurses working together for our animals. Wouldn’t have got very far as a vet without support & contribution of RVNs. Proud to have been Vice-Chair @theRCVS VN Council. Hurray for RVNs!! – at Cumbernauld Village, Scotland

A 'pandemic puppy' or a 'quarantine kitten' may offer much-needed company in this challenging time, but we're urging prospective pet owners to think carefully before adding a new pet to their family during the #COVID19 lockdown 👉 ow.ly/bhAm50ztdRZ ow.ly/KA2M50ztdRY

#Blog Vets have reported an increase in requests for new puppy and kitten registrations and primary vaccinations since the #COVID19 lockdown began. Our President @VetDannii emphasises why now is not the right time to get a new pet on impulse #petadvice ow.ly/NZdM50zu5C0

As we unite to #ClapForKeyWorkers tonight, a reminder not to show your support with #fireworks or sky lanterns. At up to 150 decibels, fireworks can be as loud as a jet engine and often cause severe distress and devastating injuries in pets, livestock & wildlife #ClapForOurCarers
Thank you for the shout out! 💕

With #COVID19 social distancing measures in place, vets are risk-assessing each case to decide whether certain vaccinations are essential at this time. Please respect your vets' decision if they say they aren't essential right now #WorldVaccinationDay ow.ly/Pv8J50ziVsK

Vets are playing their part in reducing the spread of #COVID19. This means that they're assessing & prioritising treatments on a case-by-case basis, but we're hearing reports of undue pressure and even abuse from clients. Please #RespectYourVet's decision ow.ly/8Zu350zhej3

It’s great to see people across the UK unite to #ClapForOurCarers every Thursday, but please don’t show your support with sky lanterns. They're not only a huge fire risk but can also have devastating impacts on pets, livestock & wildlife if animals ingest them or get trapped
