I was lucky enough to chat with the creator of DEEP STATE, one of the most promising indie retro FPS games I've seen. We talked about the wild influences behind it, from GoldenEye to John Carpenter's The Thing, and how those classics helped shape the game's identity. 🧵

Welcome to GLOOMSCAN. I'm a solo dev making retro pixel art horror adventures entirely through Claude. My first game mixes analog horror, creepypastas and suburban gothic. I can't wait to share the process here. #pixelart #gamedev

Heroes are chosen. Not for their Courage, since fear haunts us all. Not for their Skill, as the path to glory lies littered with the capable fallen. Not for their Luck, for any fool can win or lose to the fickle of fortune. Heroes are chosen by fate, and fate alone.

𝗝𝗮𝗸 𝗜𝗜 launched 23 years ago today! I'd love to see Sony give the Jak & Daxter IP to a smaller dev and let them cook.

This, to this day, is still my favorite sequel of all time. Totally did a 180-shift, which completely caught fans off guard. The story was great. The new game play was fantastic. And they still kept the core platforming elements. I freaking love Jak II, dawg.

Jak 2 is probably my favorite game of all time. It's far from perfect, but if I had to pick one single game to play for the rest of my life, it would probably be this one.
