Spent 2 days @MGMNatlHarbor for my 25th anniversary and I have to say the experience was pretty hit or miss. For such a relatively new property, a lot could be done to elevate the experience. That said, my aesthetician, Whitney was awesome and Brooklyn at the spa works hard.
I cannot believe this. They are really trying to bring back colonialism and double down on hate. Not today.

I think this data will to be super useful and inform strategies for drawing Black students to physics and astronomy. Now once they're there, how do we ensure they feel like they belong & are properly supported? #TEAMUPTogether #BlackinPhysics #BlackinAstro @NSBPInc

I was pleased to be able to discuss the importance of building coalitions for DEI efforts in the physical sciences recently @APSphysics Annual Leadership Meeting. For systemic change, we must not go it alone, it takes strategic partnerships built on trust.
How do we succeed at building an inclusive STEMM enterprise through strategic coalitions? — a tremendous conversation at the @APSphysics annual leadership meeting, including a focus on @AIP_TEAMUP. @AIP_HQ @AAS_Office @AAPTHQ @SPSNational @SOA_2050 @PA_SEAChange
Unsurprisingly, this new study by @EdTrust and Just Equations found that high achieving Black & Latino students lack access to advance math courses. bit.ly/3GCGjch
It's why I think physics depts should partner with math depts to provide comprehensive, nonjudgmental math support to these students so they can achieve greater success in physics and astronomy. It's called #Equity
These black women are so dope! I’m so inspired by them and their accomplishments!

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of meeting with the TEAM-UP Together Campaign Committee, @AIP_HQ Foundation staff, and two @AIP_TEAMUP Together scholars, Destiny Howell and LaToya Anderson, who are just amazing rising stars!
I had a wonderful time @GoogleCloudTech in NYC listening to the "Father's of the Internet" Vint Cerf & Bob Kahn who developed the TC/PIP protocol, give details on how it all came to be. Thanks to Google Cloud & @AIP_HQ Foundationfor this wonderful event! youtube.com/live/NPfm2OmHOoM…

It was such a special experience to give a plenary at #AAPTSM23 and share our vision and progress on #TEAMUPTogether. I know that together we can reach our goal of creating change & doubling the number of Black students earning bachelor's degrees in physics and astronomy by 2030.
