I hate that I grew up with this unwarranted bias against Indian musical instruments, or the fact that they had to be confined to classical music.
Yeh Duniya by Curtain Blue finally tore that apart, and I’m so glad it did.
In a world where almost everything sounds like a different shade of beige, a harmonium or a tabla adds such enigmatic variety to music. I’d never have thought.
Has to be one of the freshest songs of the year.

take the flight ✈️
one thing i figured out very early on in my career, partly because of good intuition but mostly because i am financially irresponsible, is that buying a ticket and taking a flight is always worth it.
this applies to all contexts* :
- you will never regret a vacation to a place you’ve been thinking about
- you will never regret going to an IRL event that’s relevant to your professional life
- you will never regret shooting that podcast IRL instead of doing a zoom interview
- you will never regret visiting your family and old friends that you have not met in a while
this might seem obvious on the surface but i’ve noticed a lot of my friends contemplate their travel decisions and forecasting their cost vs ROI out of trips.
a big reason for this is obviously financial, but the case i’m making here is that if you can afford it (and in some cases, even if you cannot), you should avoid decision fatigue related to any kind of travel as much as possible. the ROI out of a flight you take is 1) always high and 2) impossible to accurately calculate.
so much of what i’ve done in my career, and the stories i have, and the friends i have made, and the foods i like are a direct result of me taking a flight.
people do appreciate travel but this post is supposed to be a plea to spend some time and truly internalize that travel is literally one of the only things in the world that almost always have an outsized, positive impact on your life.
don’t waste your time thinking about it.

* except crashes but those are statistically nearly impossible although they come with a 100% tail risk of dying so some fear is rational

Wake up babe, new YC GP just dropped👑
Life update: dropping the "Visiting" — I'm joining @ycombinator as a General Partner 🤩
YC was my first choice as a founder in 2019. Seven years later, I'm choosing it again.
This past year, I got to come full circle: working with founders through the W26 and S26 batches, helping them turn early ideas into products people love.
I'm incredibly excited to keep finding founders and helping them build the iconic companies of this generation 🔥
