There’s something really satisfying about painting reflections —
they look complicated, but it’s all about calm, controlled brushwork and patience.

There’s no better feeling than when a painting finally *clicks*
when the light, colour, and texture all fall into place 🎨
Then again, there’s also no worse feeling than realising it’s midnight and I’ve forgotten to eat 😅

When painting reflections, don’t copy the trees exactly.
Water distorts everything slightly. Colours get softer, edges blur, and shadows deepen. 🌊
The trick is subtlety, the less precise you are, the more realistic it looks.

Friday afternoons in the studio usually mean one of two things…
A finished painting ✅
Or me saying “just one more brushstroke” for the next 3 hours 😅
Anyone else?

Reflections or clouds — which do you find trickier to paint? 🎨
