Pakistan’s Security Analyst or a Lashkar-e-Taiba Frontman? Lies, Lashkar Links, and Global Access: The Double Life of Qamar Cheema That Both India and the West Must Watch Out For.
Qamar Cheema claims to head an outfit called the Sanober Institute in Islamabad. In June, this institute organised a roundtable on Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos, framed as an exercise in how to restore deterrence in South Asia.
Reports from close quarters in Pakistan suggest that Asim Munir is rushing to Tehran alongside the Saudi foreign minister and his Turkish counterpart at Riyadh’s insistence and within the framework of the Mecca Defence Pact.
With fresh US strikes on Iran looking imminent, Saudi Arabia fears Tehran could hit it again.
Just days ago, Mohsen Rezaei snubbed Munir in Tehran. Now he must return, seemingly as an errand boy for both Riyadh and Washington.
When you have masters to serve, self-respect is a luxury you cannot afford.

As a member of the minority community from Jammu and Kashmir, I had to hear Farooq Abdullah’s words twice because I could not believe a man of his stature had said them. Speaking to workers in Baramulla, he claimed that Pakistan keeps our identity alive by raising Kashmir at international forums and that Islamabad is protecting us.
Protecting us? Pakistan has given this land graves, grief and gunfire. It sent terrorists who drove minorities out of the Valley, orphaned our children (Hindus and Muslims alike) and left families afraid to live in their own homes. Too many in Jammu and Kashmir have cremated or buried their loved ones because of the violence Pakistan has fuelled.
And look at how Pakistan treats the subjects of Jammu and Kashmir who live under its occupation. In Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK), people protesting for their rights have faced deadly violence. A local rights body counted 80 deaths by early August, while residents put the toll much higher. Does their suffering count for nothing? Is Pakistan’s international rhetoric more important than the lived reality of the people it claims to represent?
Farooq saab is a veteran politician who knows exactly what Pakistan’s role in Jammu and Kashmir has meant. The question is: how long will he be allowed to make such statements without being held politically accountable? This is precisely the kind of politics that has allowed Kashmir’s entrenched political elite to use Pakistan’s hostility as leverage against New Delhi, while expecting no accountability for their own words.
The Centre has often appeared content to treat him as a harmless veteran politician. But his words have consequences, particularly for those of us who have lived and are still living with the cost of Pakistan’s hostility.
If the government still does not act against him, it should at least demand accountability from the National Conference leadership, including his son and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. Jammu and Kashmir has bled enough. Its people deserve better than to hear the country responsible for so much of their suffering being praised as their protector.

Either age is catching up with Farooq Abdullah, or impunity is, and it shows more every day. He says whatever he likes because he knows nothing will happen to him.
Fair point. I disagree, though.

I don’t agree with you in this point. If a politician has not been able to convince his wife on his political vision, how effective would he be in making others follow it?

Amruta Fadnavis’s singing and dance performances may not be everyone’s cup of tea. But why should that matter? And why should being the Chief Minister’s wife mean she cannot pursue her own interests?
The trolling over her Garba remarks is equally misplaced. A wife is not obliged to mirror her husband’s politics, and a Chief Minister’s wife is not required to behave like a neighbourhood communal gatekeeper to prove her ideological credentials.
We often talk about women’s independence, yet expect a politician’s wife to conform to his political image, as though she needs his permission to express herself. If anything, Devendra Fadnavis deserves credit for not stopping his wife from doing what she wants despite the criticism.
The only legitimate grounds for questioning her activities in relation to her husband’s position would be if she were using his political influence, public funds or party funds to pursue them. Beyond that, people are free to disagree with her, but personal disapproval is not a political argument. And a wife does not have to be an extension of her husband’s worldview.
🚨 Around 4,000 Indian Muslims who travelled to Saudi Arabia for pilgrimage are now stranded there due to flight cancellations. The MEA says it is coordinating with tour operators and airlines to facilitate their early return to India.
Politicians gonna be politicians. Don’t expect too much.
And thank you for making your point respectfully, without labelling me paid PR or Amruta Fadnavis’s spokesperson, or casting aspersions on my integrity. Disagreements toh hote hi rahenge.

Most of us know you well for your love for nation.
But didn’t expect such a low level of understanding of the real issue by you.
Sanatani love and care for their belief in Maa and to show that love and care we celebrate Navratri.
Here you got it completely wrong.

I wasn’t aware of the FIRs or the suspensions. I had simply seen Amruta Fadnavis being trolled extensively and shared my perspective as a woman.
Having said that, I think we need to distinguish between criticism and character assassination. Calling her a victim of, or accusing her of promoting ‘love jihad’ simply because she spoke about inclusivity at Garba events or made a TikTok with a Muslim creator is not political criticism. It is casting aspersions on a woman’s character without evidence. Does being a BJP supporter give anyone the licence to do that?
I am myself experiencing a milder version of this very mindset over this very post. I explicitly said that her singing and dancing may not be everyone’s cup of tea, and that includes me, yet people were quick to dismiss my post as PR and suggest that I had been paid to write it. On what basis? Disagree with my argument, challenge it, even ridicule it if you wish. But inventing motives and making baseless allegations is not an argument.
I do think filing FIRs and suspending accounts can be a disproportionate response, depending on the circumstances. But that does not mean people get a free pass to malign others. Public figures, their spouses and private citizens alike deserve protection from baseless allegations. And those who hide behind anonymous accounts should understand that anonymity does not make them immune from responsibility.
The problem is that people who are so quick to invoke their right to free speech often seem incapable of accepting someone else’s right to disagree. That applies to the political right just as much as it does to anyone else.
🚨 Mumbai, Maharashtra: Mumbai ATS arrests Mohammad Hasan Abu Sarmad Akhtar (33) from Mahim over links to Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM).
A search of his mobile phone reportedly revealed inflammatory posts and audio clips featuring UN-designated Pakistan-based terrorist Masood Azhar. Intelligence inputs from his Telegram and other social media activity also indicate contact with ISI operatives.
😱 JUST IN: Ilhan Omar’s sister’s marriage certificate reportedly lists her father as Nur Said Elmi, the same name associated with Omar’s former husband, Ahmed Nur Said Elmi.
Crazy, crazy.
A full-on anti-Iran campaign has begun in Pakistani media following Asim Munir’s latest visit to Tehran, where he was reportedly snubbed and denied a meeting by Mohsen Rezaei initially. When the two eventually met, the coldness and distance were unmistakable.
Since Munir’s return to Pakistan, sharp anti-Iran rhetoric has been gaining traction in Pakistani media. The timing is telling. One wonders whether the public snub was only the tip of the iceberg, and Munir returned from Tehran with considerably more to stew over than what was visible to the outside world.

Notice how all the ISPR’s bootlicking lapdogs have suddenly turned against Iran after Asim Munir’s royal humiliation in Tehran on his last trip, where he went playing American errand boy, trying to manipulate markets at Washington’s behest. Nothing exposes these shameless propagandists better than watching them switch their masters’ enemies overnight.
Shame on us.

Raise your voice, India. Raise it now.
Just Seven days after the protests, everyone seems to have forgotten Ankita Bhandari—as if her case never existed.” Does justice have an expiry date ??

A 19-year-old daughter of the nation lost her life because she refused to bow down to corrupt VIP demands. Today, the person shadowed by these grave allegations sits in a seat of high constitutional power. When her grieving parents sought answers in the capital, they were silenced and detained.
We refuse to let her memory be erased. We refuse to let impunity win.
