The Birds of Fair Isle review
This is a fitting tribute to a most hallowed of ornithological isles and will surely work its way on to the bookshelves of many birders, says Josh Jones: f.mtr.cool/piokdb7bdk
Of course the main attraction was this very out of place adult Egyptian Nightjar sitting on the beach at Virkie
This lovely young male Pallid Harrier was chasing Meadow Pipits before it dropped down to roost at Loch of Brow the other evening

Morning my office gets hundreds yes hundreds of letters for help with awareness this one somehow touched me its not asking for money but please add your signature to the petition. Let me introduce you to Brogan who has now lost 80-90% of her mobility. Her mental health is really struggling. Today I'm asking every single one of you to spare just 2 minutes for an incredible family who are fighting a battle no family should ever have to face. Karly and her amazing daughter, (pictured) Brogan, who is living with Friedreich's Ataxia (FA) – a rare, progressive and life-limiting condition that slowly takes away a person's independence. There is currently no cure. Imagine watching your child slowly lose the ability to walk, stand, write, eat, use their hands or do the everyday things most of us never even think about. Imagine knowing the condition will continue to progress while feeling powerless to stop it. No parent should have to watch that happen. Yet despite everything FA has thrown at her, Brogan continues to show incredible courage, determination and strength every single day. She refuses to let this condition define who she is, and Karly never stops fighting for her daughter and every other family affected by FA. Today, I'm hoping you can help them reach 100,000 signatures before 24th September. The treatment Skyclarys has already been approved in Ireland. Families here in the UK deserve the same hope. They deserve to know their voices have been heard. If Brogan was your daughter... Your sister... Your son... Your mum... Your dad... Or someone you loved... Wouldn't you hope strangers would take just 2 minutes to help? I'm asking everyone to stand with Karly, Brogan and every family living with Friedreich's Ataxia. Please sign the petition. Please share this post. Please ask your friends and family to do the same. Together, we can help turn 2 minutes into 100,000 voices that simply cannot be ignored. Thank you. petition.parliament.uk/petit… you sign the petition as time is running out and share on your page.

Thrilled, on my 1st swim in Yare catchment, in the lovely River Tas #chalkstream, to meet my 1st live East Anglian White-clawed Crayfish (Austropotamobius pallipes aka Atlantic Stream Crayfish), globally Endangered with extinction. Just moulted! See exuvia to left! #MySwim🧵1/10

Another high of #Norfolk's River Tas was this charming, rather shy, wild Brown Trout (Salmo trutta) parr with whom I spent quality time. Probably young of the year, alevin having hatched in early spring after winter spawning. Quite silty but shows there's some clean gravels. 2/10

Besides the parr, several small/medium Brown Trout, but quite skittish & tricky to stalk given rather poor, silt-laden, visibility. Saw plenty of puffs of silt where they evaded me!
Also Chabot Bullhead (Cottus perifretum) for which more homes eg tiles could be provided. 3/10
