Not maintaining your tyres can have serious consequences, as not only can it compromise the performance of your vehicle and result in costly repairs, but it could also end up putting you and others at risk of an accident.

With reports of outbreaks of rain and unsettled weather on the horizon, make sure you are fully aware of how to drive in the wet weather and that your tyre #tread is above the 1.6mm limit or you could be at risk of #aquaplaning.

If your tyre is worn down on one side more than the other, this could suggest that you have #suspension issues which would need further investigation by a qualified tyre professional.

If you have #sidewall or #tread punctures larger than 0.64cm you will need to replace your tyres as you can’t repair any punctures larger than that and you should never repair tyres worn below 1.6mm.

Tests conducted by the British Tyre Manufacturers’ Association, found that a car braking at 60mph on a wet road at 5oc stopped five metres shorter, equivalent to more than one car length, when fitted with #winterweather tyres.
