Meet Aruna, an Aagewan (community leader) with the Self Employed Women's Association-SEWA. Aruna started her journey with a SEWA training on papad-making. She soon began sharing what she learned with other women in her community. Her commitment to helping others earned her recognition as a changemaker and inspired her to dream bigger. With support from SEWA, Aruna strengthened her skills in food preparation and entrepreneurship. Together with fellow women members, she turned those skills into a food stall in Khergate. 🍽️ Today, the stall serves both traditional snacks like farsipuri, nimki and khurma, as well as popular favourites like momos, pakoras and chai. More importantly, it has become a source of livelihood and a space where women can build confidence, earn income and support one another. 💬 “SEWA gave me the confidence to turn my skills into a livelihood and the strength to inspire others,” Aruna shares. asianfarmers.org/india-sewa-… #1000SolutionsByWomenFarmers #InternationalYearoftheWomanFarmer #InternationalYearoftheWomanFarmer2026 #IYWF2026 #YearOfTheWomanFarmer #womenfarmers #supportwomenfarmers #WomenInAgriculture #asianfarmers #AFA #supportfamilyfarmers

In Gujarat's Kavitha Village, 8 women built a daal mill from scratch — beating voltage issues & months of training to process 7,000-8,000kg of pulses/year. 🌾 All sold directly via SEWA Rudi. No middlemen. Advance payments for farmers. "We fought through all the difficulties." youtu.be/2yrCd__MgsA #1000SolutionsBy WomenFarmers

In #Cambodia, agricultural cooperatives are using revolving funds to expand their businesses and provide better services to farmers. 🌱 Through the #APFP-#FO4A program, FAEC supported cooperatives in strengthening business planning, financial management, and marketing. 🌾 Ballang Sethaphi Agricultural Cooperative received USD 8,500 and expanded its agricultural input and rice trading businesses. In 2024, it sold 138 tons of fertilizer. 🌱 Ponleu Kdei Songkhoem Kasekar Agricultural Cooperative received USD 8,500 to purchase fertilizer and rice seed for its members. Farmers can pay after harvest, helping reduce their reliance on high-interest loans. The funds are more than just capital. They are helping cooperatives build sustainable businesses while making agricultural inputs and services more accessible to farmers. youtu.be/VGw-qWj6bng?si=ad3j…

From managing irrigation to running businesses. 💧🌾 In #Cambodia, the Stung Chinit Farmer Water User Community used #APFP-#FO4A support to establish three enterprises: fertilizer distribution, rice seed supply, and rice trading. In its first year, the group purchased around 600 tons of rice—while building new business skills and confidence along the way. youtu.be/sh2_vNzdEkE?si=jv9R… #FarmersOrganizations #Cambodia

A piece of chayote was being sold for as little as 50 centavos. For Jenalyn Entoy, it raised a bigger question: Why do the people who work the hardest often earn the least? That question became the foundation of Pestales Agriculture Cooperative. Starting from zero, Pestales worked to connect farmers to fairer markets, funding, training and opportunities, while turning surplus harvests into value-added products. Today, the cooperative is growing more than crops. It is growing confidence, opportunity, dignity and hope. 🌱 asianfarmers.org/philippines… #1000SolutionsByWomenFarmers

For Chamila Weerasingha of #SriLanka, resilience meant finding another way forward. When COVID-19 disrupted her food business and heavy rains destroyed her vegetable sales, she started again—selling manioc, pineapples, & dry fish by the roadside. Today, her business helps support her children’s education and household expenses. youtu.be/ShLt-U4gquc #ARISEFarmers #ARISE #SupportFamilyFarmers

For Disna, growing ornamental plants is both a livelihood and a way to empower other women. 🌸 A member of Uththamavi Agri-entrepreneurs Society in #SriLanka, she trains women in planting, pruning, and propagation, and helps them sell through monthly flower exhibitions. When COVID-19 disrupted her business, support from #ARISE-Farmers through SANASA helped her get back on her feet. Today, Disna hopes to grow her flower business further while continuing to support other women. youtu.be/HJU3rTBJFhA?si=NhmX… #WomenInAgriculture #FamilyFarmers #IYWF2026

What happens when farmers have access to capital, business training, and reliable markets? In #Cambodia, agricultural cooperatives are turning these opportunities into growing businesses. 🌾 Through #APFP-#FO4A, cooperatives received revolving funds and training in business planning, accounting, and enterprise management. At Kaksekor Samaki Rongroeurng Agricultural Cooperative, USD 50,000 helped expand organic rice production, grow membership from 100 to 252 farmers, and secure contracts for up to 700 tons of rice. At Rachana Satrei Rongroeurng Agricultural Cooperative, a USD 4,000 fund helped 10 members expand vegetable farming and open new markets with local schools. youtu.be/sIAToL2RQKk
