New #AssemblingLife article on the Metaphysics of Pregnancy out on #PhilosophyCompass. Embryogenesis is mentioned as a case of self-organisation and in mammals it is intrinsically linked to pregnancy, so this article explores how we can think about pregnancy in the first place.
My article for #PhilosophyCompass on the Metaphysics of Pregnancy has been accepted for publication! It has been the result of some years of teaching and I think it’s such a cool topic. 🎉 Here is the link to the AAM version: philpapers.org/rec/BELTMO-20

Had a fantastic time at the workshop on comparative philosophy of science organised by @si_loh and @karimbschir for the @CPSUiO. It was a great chance to put philosophy at work and brainstorm ideas 💡 @Assembling_Life

It was so nice to host Vanessa Seifert at the #CPS bookclub to discuss her Cambridge Element “Chemistry’s metaphysics” and her writing process! Interviewed by @OestSander. @Assembling_Life @CambUP_PHILNYUK 📖
Happy New Year from @Assembling_Life 🎉 we are so ready for a year of workshops, collaborations and a lot of philosophy 📖🤝 Stay tuned for our first event of 2025 “#ScaM Workshop: on scales and measurement in the sciences” with @CPSUiO ( Oslo, 27/28 March 2025) 📐📏
The @Assembling_Life project is super grateful for all the amazing work done in this first year! We celebrated with the last 2024 project meeting in beautiful Frognerseteren 💫 Stay tuned for all the exciting things forthcoming in 2025 😊 @UniOslo

Had a fantastic time recording this episode with @TheDissenterYT and talking about all my favourite things from functions to kinds and biochemical molecules - wrapping it up with education as empowerment 💪 @Assembling_Life
New episode (1023), with Dr. Francesca Bellazzi (@FranciBellazzi). We talk about biochemical kinds and functions, genes, and virtue #ethics during the COVID-19 pandemic. #Science #Philosophy

Had an absolutely FANTASTIC time at #PSA24 - so much good philosophy and it has been great to connect with old and new friends and colleagues! Massive congrats to the organisers and thanks to @Assembling_Life and the Science Colloquium for sponsoring my attendance! @PhilSciAssoc
Come and find the posters of @OestSander and @FranciBellazzi at the #PSA24 poster session tonight! Here a preview @PhilSciAssoc ↘️
How can we think of the relations between physics and biology? This relevant question for our project on self-assembly and self-organisation was explored during the SPSP session at #PSA2024 chaired by our advisor Julia Bursten! 🦋

Spontaneity is such a fascinating concept! 💥 Thanks to @CPSUiO lunch time seminar for hosting me and for the great feedback on my talk!
Interested in chemical spontaneity? Our researcher @OestSander has a very interesting view on this, which he presented last week at the @CPSUiO lunch time seminar. ⚗️🧪

We are ready and excited for our reopening workshop today and tomorrow! Plenty of talks that reflect our spirit of dialogue between different sciences and humanities. Program is here: hf.uio.no/english/research/s…
We are getting ready for our #CPS Gen 2.0 Reopening workshop! The program is terrific: we move from policy making to formal ontology, methodology in science and metaphysics of science, communication in science and philosophy of physics ⤵️@UniOslo
