.@AstroLeConte and fellow @DurhamPhysics astronomers used the James #Webb Space Telescope to look back more than ten billion years in time and saw that the #Universe’s early #galaxies developed much faster than previously thought! 👉 brnw.ch/21wJ7to @DarkerMatters

Our paper on the optical morphologies of galaxies up to z~6.5 through visual classifications in CEERS is now published in ApJ. The NIR/IR JWST capabilities reveal that the structure of these galaxies have a lot in common to the ones in our local universe.

We have unveiled our galaxy’s black hole! Here is the first-ever image of the black hole at the center of our Milky Way galaxy, Sagittarius A*, thanks to the incredible work of the @ehtelescope team. #OurBlackHole s.si.edu/3Lc1d1M

Excited to announce I've accepted a PhD offer!! I will be going to @OfficialUoM @jodrellbank to study the first galaxies and stars with @conselice using @NASAWebb @ESA_Webb!
Small adjustments, major progress! Having completed 2 more mirror alignment steps, #NASAWebb’s optical performance will be able to meet or exceed its science goals. Now that’s good optics! 😉 go.nasa.gov/3KMV1gW #UnfoldTheUniverse Curious about this image? Thread ⬇️
