This really was a deep dive, ranging from the Kerr solutions for spacetime around black holes to General Relativity. It would be convenient if this theory were true, but I think it's fair to say (as @drbecky_ and the authors agree - spoiler alert!) that the jury's still out!

Could black holes explain the expansion of the Universe? We take a deep dive into new research that implies they could, and discuss possible challenges to the result. And since this is all about black holes, who better to speak to than @drbecky_ podcasters.spotify.com/pod/s…

There are only a handful of supernova remnants records of the events in the last ~1000yrs - so they are rare beasts. @Quentin65165187 proposes SN1181 AD is what is now Parker's Star and nebula Pa 30. Find out more about this detective story: open.spotify.com/episode/3jF…
This month we go back in time 840 years, to look at a "guest star" from 1181AD. @Quentin65165187 explains to @chrisenorth how they have linked this to recent observations of a most unusual object in our Galaxy. blogs.cardiff.ac.uk/physicso… Listen on Spotify: open.spotify.com/episode/3jF…

Take-aways from this month's episode of @AstroPythag: wash your hands after searching for meteorites, and all you need is aluminium foil and a sandwich bag. Quote of the episode (new feature?): "I can feel again!" @hellybates on realising the Winchcombe meteorite was real :-)

Are you (or do you know) an astronomer who visited or observed with @NAICobservatory (ideally on-site)? @UKAstroNut is putting together a 3D tour of the observatory (supported by @IOPWales) and would to include a range of people who visited and/or used the telescope. Let us know!

Here's a gif of the Chang'e-5 descent and landing while we wait for the full video footage. There's a hover phase in there, but altitude is impossible to discern.
