We will be introducing bipartisan legislation to block any and all purchases of Russian oil. It will be called the “Ronald Reagan Peace Through Strength Act.” It will be forced to the Floor via discharge and it will pass overwhelmingly. #PeaceThroughStrength

The death penalty is inadmissible because it is an attack on the inviolability and dignity of the person. The common good can be safeguarded and the requirements of justice can be met without recourse to capital punishment: effective systems of detention have been developed that protect citizens while at the same time do not completely deprive those who are guilty of the possibility of redemption. #NoDeathPenalty

My relative-from-marriage in China learned *calculus* before turning 16.
My son is going to learn it by 15 even if I have to teach it to him myself.

This is an amazing essay. Education in the US -- especially among the socioeconomically disadvantaged schools -- is a five-alarm fire.
Most writers don't admit to mistakes, much less publicize them so that we can all benefit. Nikole Hannah-Jones (@nhannahjones) has done both of those things with this powerful essay. I do not agree with every word (or with some underlying assumptions), but she deserves nothing but praise for bringing her daughter's story to light. Read and share widely!
