ALT Infographic showing the Lunar Gateway Launch and path to lunar orbit. The Gateway space station’s first two elements, the Power and Propulsion Element and the HALO (Habitation and Logistics Outpost), will launch together aboard a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket. The infographic outlines each step of the journey, beginning with launch and progressing through booster separations, engine burns, and spacecraft separation. PPE’s solar electric propulsion system then guides the elements through multiple orbital phases: spiral, alignment, and ballistic, followed by lunar flybys. The final phase places Gateway into a unique Near-Rectilinear Halo Orbit (NRHO) around the Moon, where it will stage for NASA’s Artemis IV mission. Credit: NASA/Gayle Dibiasio.
