What makes exploring art and science in spatial apps so compelling? We look at Apple Vision Pro apps Museas and Astronoma to learn how to design for curiosity and discovery.
Details here: uploadvr.com/museas-astronom…
The new Space Station Environment in Astronoma was made natively with shader graphs in Reality Composer Pro and RealityKit. Modeled on the ISS 51.6° inclination and 92-minute orbital period. Supports light and dark cycles too, with accurate rendering based on the sun's position.

Curiosity has delivered a new 360-degree panorama from Mars. “We’ve seen a lot of fascinating landscapes through Curiosity’s eyes, but this sea of polygons took our breath away,” said the mission’s project scientist. 1/2

Black hole simulation in 360º video from @NASAGoddard in @AstronomaApp. John Michell first proposed the “dark star” theory in 1783. How far we have come!
Huge credit to Scott Wiessinger, Jeremy Schnittman, et al. for the visualization.

Learning about Voyager 1 and a sneak peek at Astronoma 3:
NASA recently shut down one of Voyager 1's instruments to conserve power and help extend its voyage. It reminded me to dive deeper into this spacecraft inside #AppleVisionPro.
I also recorded a behind-the-scenes of upcoming 3D map of launch sites in next update. Still a work in progress, but happy to hear thoughts or feature requests!
