FRANCE JUST VOTED TO TAX YOU FOR SWAPPING BITCOIN INTO A STABLECOIN. Not cashing out. Swapping. Today in France you pay tax when you sell crypto for euros. Trade it for a stablecoin and nothing is due. Amendment I-3898 changes that from 1 January 2027. Swap into a regulated stablecoin and the gain is taxed at 31.4%. On the day you swap, whether you ever touch a euro or not. It passed last Friday, 38 votes to 37. The Assembly has 577 deputies. 100 showed up. The government opposed it. It passed anyway. Now look at what else deputies have put into the same budget. Declare any self-custody wallet worth €100,000 or more, or face fines of up to €10,000. One version wants the threshold at €5,000. An exit tax on unrealised crypto gains above €800,000 if you move your tax home out of France. Coins on foreign exchanges and in your own wallet included. First they tax the trade. Then they list the wallet. Then they tax you for leaving. And it isn't just France. Since January, DAC8 has every crypto exchange in the EU collecting your details for the tax office. From July 2027, EU exchanges can't touch privacy coins, and cash payments over €10,000 are banned across the EU. Europe isn't regulating crypto. It's mapping your wealth before it decides how much to take. None of the French measures are law yet. The full budget vote is 17 November, then the Senate. But the people who do well in Europe now are the ones who planned their exit before they needed it. A second passport. A second residency. Keys only they hold.

1/ @peterktodd, author of the commissioned OP_RETURN uncap PR that kicked off BIP-110 immune response, spent the summer pitching two related ideas (not for the first time) for funding miners long-term: - tail emissions (a permanent, ongoing trickle of newly created bitcoins paid to miners after the block subsidy ends, effectively a slow inflation that dilutes all existing holders) - demurrage (a direct “holding tax” charged on coins that sit idle for a long time and are later spent, with the proceeds routed to miners)

Cashier: “how do you wanna pay?” Me: “you guys take SR-strcUSX? It’s digital money”
Digital Assets form a monetary spectrum: $BTC = Digital Capital $STRC = Digital Credit SR-strcUSX = Digital Money $USDT = Digital Currency From left to right, volatility and return potential fall while stability and transactional utility rise.

Even today, there are over 21,000 Bitcoin Core 27 nodes, which are clearly sybil (no one runs that many nodes which are outside of Core's sliding support window). So, we were probably closer to 30% of real nodes or higher. Pretty strange that we got essentially 0% miner signaling

Bitcoiners dramatically overestimate how resistant they are to social engineering. Give me 6 months and 3 influencers (and remove my character) and I could have +60% of bitcoiners cheering for tail emissions and explaining why it’s necessary for bitcoin We already conceded “money.” Why should general-purpose blockspace be artificially scarce?
Bitcoiners will never accept “tail emissions”. Mark my words.

“Tail emissions and Demurrage” Such cool concepts for slaying the 21M cap. Under the current regime, this is a matter of time. Five years ago, anyone saying it’s hard to define spam, or hard to say what Bitcoin is, would be shunned and laughed out of the room. Compromise on ethos and integrity is a slippery slope. I give it five years until people against tail emissions and demurrage are ridiculed by Big Bitcoin and their simps as delusional non technical retards.

Feel free to show me what will be your strategy if the 5 largest pools in this chart collude or are coerced into enforcing new consensus rules, like ones adding taxes into the protocol. Or even if you see a role for yourself at all in trying to resist such an scenario.

Operation Strategy 2.0 — next phase: Turn off the original Bitcoin community. Convince them running nodes no longer matters. Push them toward custody. Centralise the economic nodes. Are you falling for it?
$STRC is the bridge between Bitcoin, the world’s Digital Capital, and stablecoins, the world’s Digital Currency.

Bitcoin is undergoing a massive state level attack from all sides, and the most dangerous enemies are inside the gates. If BIP 110 doesn’t succeed, it’s over

The world will never be free unless we have censorship-resistant payments. Governments will be able to control us forever, if they can control our monetary transactions, so we need BTC to be a medium of exchange. What's the point of money if the government gets to tell you what you can spend it on, and with whom. Saylor likes ETH and Solana now, because they support DeFi protocols that can be used to lever up his preferred stock, so they are natural buyers of it. Retail investors that do this will lose money (and did lose money) when STRC crashes as much as it did.

"BIP110ers only have a few days to get the 55% miner support they need." ...siiigh... No, that's not how this works. We only have a few days until we start enforcing BIP110, whether miners like it or not. Miners only have a few days before we start rejecting their blocks.

If BIP-110 activates, EVERYONE remains in consensus. Yes. Everyone. Even Udi. Even Saylor. If 5 companies ignore 17,000+ node-runnners, they will be out of consensus with 15-20% of the network. If 5 companies can ignore consensus today, they will ignore consensus tomorrow. You may rejoice if BIP-110 fails today, but you will weep tomorrow.
At 961,022, BIP-110 has 38 signals (2.70%). Its 55% voluntary threshold is impossible. At 961,632, BIP-110 nodes reject non-signaling blocks. Unless major miners reverse, Bitcoin continues normally while BIP-110 stalls or forks into irrelevance. Its backers should stand down.

When someone shows you who they are, you should believe them. NVK has gone out of his way to attack pleb projects like SeedSigner and he often has spam-supporters on his pod. He's done nothing but fence-sit and cause problems during the spam wars

The state has been captured by the Financial Industrial Complex. The same Financial Industrial Complex that make up your shareholders and bondholders. The same Financial Industrial Complex that wants to centralise as much Bitcoin as possible into vehicles like $MSTR in an attempt to crowd out sovereign self-custody and independent nodes. Resistance to centralising forces has always been Bitcoin’s defence. It’s nothing personal. It’s simple incentives & architecture.
