According to court records, the man had not been a part of his son's life since the child was just one year old. Despite failing to provide emotional or financial support for 28 years, the father came forward after his son's death, expecting a windfall from the deceased's estate. The court took a firm stance against the claim, emphasising that a parent cannot abandon their parental responsibilities throughout a child's life and then expect to benefit financially from their death.
