Many fields have changed color fast this week🔥 This heat and lack of rain is pushing the crop to mature way to quickly.
#Drought expansion continues w/ a 10% increase of D1 (Moderate Drought) ... much of it into eastern IA. D0-D3 conditions now cover 96% of the state, up from 88% last week. This is the most coverage since 09/17/2013 (97%) #IowaAg #IowaClimate #Drought20 (1/2)

Great analysis on the impacts of weather (wind)👇on late season ear development and potential.
111 day product near Churdan, Iowa. These ears (left to right) are from plants that were standing, lodged, and kinked. The milk line progression for each: 1/4 for the standing, 1/2 for the lodged, premature black layer for the kinked stalk. Kernel depth is affected as well.

It’s been a tough year for soybeans. Some sat in the ground for 30 days while others were planted 60 days late, fought weeds then the Thistle caterpillar apocalypse. Now SDS is common in SW and WC IA plus White Mold is showing up in NW IA along with a few aphids

Final Plant Dates for Crop Insurance for #corn and #soybeans Dates on the map indicate the last dates crops can be planted and still have 100% of the insurance guarantee. If crops are planted after the final plant date, crop insurance coverage is reduced 1% per day #plant19

Once the weather clears, there will be plenty of spraying to do. This table shows when different weeds begin emerging/when peak emergence is. And remember - summer weed control will be much easier if the sprayer beats the planter on your acres! #Spray19

I'm confident in the safety of glyphosate because I've worked with the scientists that have ensured its safety and have reviewed the studies myself. Now you can read them too if you're interested. #BayerEmployee #GlyphosateIsVital
