C) Demanding freelancers specifically have accounts with a company with over 12 years of serious privacy violations means the client is too incompetent to be dictating anything re: web publishing, and they don't give a damn about you and your safety Fuck that.

A) Your personal/professional accounts aren't any client's business. B) You're being paid to write, not for the extra social media marketing they're trying to demand from you. Your social media accounts are for YOUR market (who you sell to or network with), not theirs.

Ugh. Had to reject an ad submitted to the freelance writing job board b/c the "client" was overstepping (again). This time they were demanding writers have specific social media accounts. If you see this in job ads elsewhere, here's why it's a problem:

Paraphrasing a blog I saw today: "I want you to write regularly for me. I won't pay you, but if you're really good at marketing my blog too, I'll teach you how to get OTHER sites to pay you $150 per post! PS: I also accept sponsored posts & CHARGE $150 to publish them." 😒
