Honestly, I’d say most shonens MC don’t have lofty goals, the more classic shonen “soul” comes from expansive fantastical worlds to explore, large casts, separated arcs and long form storytelling. That’s what more modern shonens lack.
New Gen Shonen’s are missing the soul of what made the genre generational back in the days, a good underdog protangonist that has to build themselves up from the mud

Update:
They had just deleted all their Steel Ball Run reaction videos after Episode 7 dropped. Honestly that doesn't surprise me in the slightest.
But damn they actually didn't bother to record as soon as the first clip was shown. Again, I don't think anime's for them anymore.

The ocarina is the key to your adventure—its songs can change Hyrule and guide you toward a new destiny. Use it, along with a variety of other items, to journey across time and restore balance to the kingdom in The Legend of #Zelda: #OcarinaOfTime, coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on Nov 5.

JoJo SBR Episode 7 is so far the best episode story wise. The introduction of Funny Valentine was great and the first ever reveal on Tusk and the Saint's Corpse were done well. It still retains the bizarre feeling which was always intended.
They kept some of the funny jokes too.

The problem is if creators want their show picked up now it’s kinda got to be an overarching narrative. Episodic storytelling is basically dead at this point and it’s genuinely sad that we’re so scared of “filler” we can’t just appreciate an episode of anything that isn’t

All of us at Marvel Studios are deeply saddened by the passing of Sir Patrick Stewart. Sir Patrick brought Professor Charles Xavier to life with extraordinary grace, intelligence, and humanity, defining the character for generations of fans, from "X-Men" to "Logan" to "Avengers: Doomsday." He was a singular talent, a generous collaborator, and a true gentleman. Our hearts go out to his wife Sunny, his children, his friends, and the countless fans around the world whose lives he touched with his art.

I am so tired right now. Can 2026 be over? We cannot be going through so much turmoil and losses.
RIP to an acting legend. You were magnificent in your iconic roles. Rest easy.

Black Clover honestly deserves the anime spotlight after such a long time being on hiatus.
However, that's not to say the rest of Anime Fall Season hasn't had some pretty great bangers.

'BLACK CLOVER' Season 2 is currently the # 1 Anime in viewership on Crunchyroll for the October 2026 quarter!
I've been holding this specific topic because there's already a ton of QRTs getting the point across.
What I want say is that there's completely nothing wrong with them feeling this way since the series has some dark themes behind it.

Honestly I'm just wondering how they'll react to later One Piece and JoJo Part 7 because you have literal scenes and designs like this in the making.
Even Black Clover gets VERY heavy on the imagery in the final arc. Especially on Lucius.
