Churchill said “Those that fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it”. DC-Cam’s work documenting Cambodia’s history, including its most tragic periods, is invaluable. Thanks to HE Youk Chhang for showing us around DC-Cam and the Queen Mother Library.

Recovery & restoration can be a decades-long process. Australia has supported this in Cambodia, but some efforts are very local. Touching to visit the urn library to see remains left behind by families fleeing conflict in the 1980s, and work being done to facilitate their return.

Education partnerships are an investment in Cambodia’s future. Another one was signed today - an articulation agreement between the University of Newcastle and EAMU, creating additional pathways for Cambodian students to study in Australia. Great collaboration between 🇦🇺 🇰🇭 🇸🇬.

Australia is seeking a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council for 2029–30. A seat on the UNSC will give Australia and our region more influence to shape the agenda and drive action that delivers for Australians and the world.
