A 15 year old girl bravely fought back against her captor, hitting him with a fire extinguisher to escape a basement apartment in Northwest Baltimore after being stabbed all over.
The incident began on Thursday, October 22, 2026, when the teenager accepted a ride from 23 year old Abubakarr Barrie, who was operating an unlicensed rideshare vehicle (locally known as a "hack").
The victim requested a ride to a local carryout restaurant. Instead, Barrie drove in the opposite direction, put her in a tight headlock when she questioned him, and forced her into his basement residence on Garrison Boulevard.
Inside the basement, Barrie stripped the girl of her clothing, told her not to scream, and began stabbing her repeatedly across her chest, back, ribs, shoulder, and ear.
The victim fought for her life by scratching and clawing at her attacker. She managed to grab a fire extinguisher, struck Barrie with it, and broke free from his grasp.
The girl fled the house naked, shoeless, and bleeding heavily. She ran for about 5 minutes through the neighborhood, knocking on doors until a resident on Belle Avenue took her in, called 911, and contacted her mother.
She was treated for stab wounds and a collapsed lung.
This POS was arrested on Saturday, October 24.

On Oct. 24, Tanisha Shelton, 45, allegedly argued with Nathaniel Mathis, 33, and threatened to come back with someone to beat him up.
She allegedly returned hours later.
But she didn't come back with someone else.
She allegedly came back with an accelerant.
And a lighter.
She allegedly doused him with the liquid and set him on fire.
Mathis suffered burns on 80% of his body.
He's not expected to survive.
A witness pepper sprayed her as she fled, and deputies found her still wearing the same clothes.
Someone who does that has to have a record, right?
CORRECT.
Court records show she pleaded guilty to arson in a 2005 Brevard County house fire.
That case that started with child abuse and animal cruelty charges.
She was also found guilty of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, firefighter or EMS worker in 2005, and she served time in Florida state prison for both cases.
Now she has set a man on fire.
And he is likely to die.
The judge ordered her held without bond.
This is a person who should NEVER be released into society again.

Margaret Hamilton, the pioneering software engineer whose work helped make the Apollo 11 moon landing possible, died Sept. 30 at age 90, MIT confirmed Thursday.
Hamilton led the team that developed flight software for NASA's Apollo missions and is famously pictured standing beside towering stacks of printed code created by her team.
At a time when women faced significant barriers in science and technology, Hamilton broke ground in the male-dominated field of computer programming. Her work helped establish software engineering as a discipline and inspired generations of women to pursue careers in STEM. She received the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2016.

Lauren Heike was 29.
She went for a walk on a Phoenix trail near her home in April 2023.
She never came back.
Zion Teasley, 22, followed her.
He chased her over a barbed-wire fence.
He stabbed her 15 times.
They were strangers.
On Friday he pleaded guilty to premeditated first-degree murder.
The plea took the death penalty off the table, so he'll get natural life.
He was on probation when he killed her.
He'd been released from prison just 5 months earlier after convictions for robbery and armed robbery.
What police found:
* He'd been fired for aggression toward female coworkers.
* He told detectives he struggled with his sexuality and gender identity.
* He said he "wanted to look like" Lauren.
* Investigators found photos of him dressed in an outfit like the one she was wearing when he killed her.
* He also pleaded guilty to possessing child porn.
This man should never have been walking free.
The system had its chance with him and let him go.
Sentencing is Dec. 4.

A New York jury just awarded $2 MILLION to a young woman who underwent a double mastectomy at 16 and later detransitioned.
The jury found her psychologist and surgeon liable for malpractice.
Her case alleged that serious mental-health issues, including depression, body dysmorphia, anorexia and autism-spectrum traits, were not adequately addressed before an irreversible procedure was performed on a minor.
Now watch what happens when someone like her speaks publicly.
For years we were told regret was exceedingly rare. We were told these procedures were necessary care. We were told questioning the process itself was dangerous.
But when a detransitioner stands up and says, “This happened to me,” suddenly she becomes the problem.
That is the epistemic tell.
When evidence supports the narrative, it is celebrated.
When evidence contradicts the narrative, the person carrying the evidence gets attacked.
A jury heard the testimony. A jury examined the evidence. A jury found malpractice. And a jury put the damages at $2 million.
You don’t protect vulnerable young people by demanding silence from the ones who came back and said, “I wish someone had slowed this down.”
You protect them by listening.

What kind of monster beats a 2 month old baby girl to death, and then blames a 7 year old?
This kind ⬇️
Demetrius Beatty, 40.
Baby Khamyah Honesty was taken to the hospital on August 16, where she later died from multiple blunt force injuries to her little head.
4 other children were also taken to the hospital for examination.
Those findings:
* One child had abrasions on both sides of his head
* One child had a healing burn on her back
* Another child had a severe diaper rash
Beatty and Honesty's mother couldn't explain the injuries to authorities, and Child and Family Services removed the children from their custody.
* On the night of the incident, Beatty called 911 and said his 7 year old son "got to the 2 month old....was fighting her....and damaged her pretty good."
*The 7 year old is described as nonverbal and autistic.
* According to the autopsy, the fractures found on the baby's forehead, the back of her head, and under her chin couldn't have been caused by a child.
* In a police interview, the mother said Beatty would often mention that he didn't like she had children with someone else.
* According to the mother, Beatty told her that if she left the twins and went to visit the twin's father (who is in jail, big shock), they were "going to be dead."
If he did this, I hope they lock this SOB up until the end of time.

Claudia Bismark was a beloved artist who lived in Fells Point for more than 35 years.
She was 76.
On Tuesday she went to breakfast with her husband.
Charging documents say a man sat in the back of the deli and watched her husband pay in cash.
When they left, he went out the back door and followed them.
A few blocks later he came up from behind, knocked them both to the ground, and took a wallet with $150 in it.
Claudia died Thursday.
Her husband, Wade, was left with a concussion and facial injuries.
The man charged is Montray McCray, 32.
Prosecutors cited at least 5 prior convictions, and local reports list:
* Guns
* Drugs
* Theft
* Evading arrest
* Violating a protective order
* Retaliating against a witness
* Court documents also list him as a lifetime registered sex offender.
A lengthy criminal record.
A lifetime sex-offender registration.
And he was still free to walk into a market, pick out 2 victims over breakfast, chase them down and kill one of them.
For $150.
The judge held him without bail this time, and homicide charges are expected.
A woman paid with her life.
For $150.
Her neighbors are the ones who helped identify him.
Meanwhile, I couldn't find a word of national coverage.
Only local Baltimore news has covered it.
Baltimore, the least you owe Claudia is to make sure he never walks free again.
