El 12 d'agost vàrem viure un eclipse solar espectacular.
El mateix dia, a Mart, el robot Perseverance en va poder contemplar un altre, quan una de les llunes del planeta vermell, Fobos, va transitar per davant del disc del Sol. Aquesta és la seqüència.

Això que veiem és l'eco de la llum d'un dels esclats de l'estel V838 Monocerotis, a 20.000 anys llum. És a dir, no com s'expandeix el material sinó com, a l'avançar la llum, va il·luminant la pols que envolta l'estel.

La NASA vol saber si sota d'aquest cràter lunar, Marius Hills, s'hi amaga, com se sospita, una xarxa de túnels que podrien servir de refugi per a futures tripulacions.
I per això s'enviarà la missió GIMLI (quin nom més apropiat per a estudiar cavernes!), que recollirà dades des de la superfície i anirà equipada amb un radar per "veure" què hi ha a sota.
