Today at State House Entebbe, I met Egyptian investors led by our Deputy Head of Mission in Egypt, Lt. Gen. Charles Angina (Rtd). I encouraged them to invest in our economy, particularly in electricity, railways, irrigation and toll roads. We produce a lot from agriculture, minerals and forests, but we must add value to these products and have affordable infrastructure so our goods can compete in the global market. I welcome their proposal to establish an industrial park for processing coffee, cotton and other products.

African, EAC, Uganda, we are blessed, but we do not know it.
Earlier we unite to fight for ourselves, the better.
In France, young people the so-called Gen Z have been violently protesting since yesterday, the 17th of October, over bad governance and corruption.
They are feeling ignored by their government, demanding better schools, and speaking out against high costs of living, education cuts, a shortage of teachers, and overall poor public service delivery.
To my shock, this is a Western country the very people who have always pretended to come to Africa to solve our problems.
For the longest time, the truth is slowly coming out: these Western countries are failed states themselves.
The God of Africa is still alive. We can still unite and do better for ourselves, rather than having these people disorganize us in the name of "helping" us.
Mzee @KagutaMuseveni has always called upon Ugandans and Africans to interest themselves in studying history, get to know deep facts about these people, and come back to unite and work for ourselves.
Thank you, Mzee, for being a giraffe always seeing far, telling us the truth and here we are today, seeing everything clearly for ourselves

True progress comes when women are not only represented but also given the opportunity to influence decisions, shape policies and lead change. We must continue creating opportunities for women to make meaningful contributions to Uganda’s development.
Thank you for representing us🙏
I led Uganda’s parliamentary delegation at the World Women Parliamentarians’ Forum in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, which began today.
This forum provides an important opportunity for learning and knowledge-sharing. We shared Uganda’s achievements in advancing women’s representation through constitutional provisions, affirmative action and gender-responsive planning and budgeting. These efforts have enabled more women to take up senior leadership positions in parliament and government.
The progress we have registered over the past 40 years under the NRM Government demonstrates the value of deliberate action. However, we recognise that representation alone is not enough. Women should have meaningful influence over legislation, national budgets, development priorities and institutional decisions that shape the lives of our citizens. This is the progress we continue to work towards achieving.
I highlighted four priorities: strengthening women’s participation in parliamentary committees and other strategic decision-making structures; investing in leadership development, mentorship and capacity-building; eliminating discrimination, intimidation, violence and harassment, both online and offline; and engaging men as partners in advancing gender equality.
I thank Hon. @AdekeAnna, Hon. @KanyesigyeMerc1, Hon. @NaluyimaEthel, Hon. Kanushu Laura and Hon. Auma Linda Agnes, who joined me as part of the Ugandan delegation.

MUSASIZI IN THAILAND FOR THE 2026 ANNUAL MEETINGS OF IMF AND WORLD BANK GROUP
Finance Minister @henrymusasizi1 accompanied by the Permanent Secretary and Secretary to the Treasury Dr @rggoobi, Governor Bank of Uganda, Dr Michael Atingi-Ego and other senior @mofpedU & Bank of Uganda officials are in Bangkok,Thailand for the 2026 annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank Group.
The Annual meetings have brought together Ministers of Finance, Central Bank Governors, Development Partners, the Private Sector, Civil Society and Academics to discuss the state of the global economy and issues of international concern.
The core themes for the 2026 annual meetings are: Global economic outlook, financial stability, poverty reduction, mobilizing private capital for jobs and infrastructure, and artificial intelligence (AI) in development.
Ahead of the annual meetings, IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva set the stage for the discussions highlighting three major forces shaping the global economy and these are; the rapid rise of AI, persistently high energy prices, and record levels of public debt. She called for decisive policy action, stronger growth, and international cooperation to navigate an increasingly complex global landscape.
Speaking about AI, the IMF Managing Director said global investment-to-GDP in AI will reach and likely exceed the amounts that went into building the railroads, the electricity grid, or the telecommunication network.
“Love it, hate it, or fear it, AI is here, rapidly becoming a key driver of countries’ relative fortunes in the world economy,” said Kristalina.
On the sidelines of the IMF/Word Bank meetings, the Finance Minister and his delegation participated in the Macroeconomic and Financial Management Institute of Eastern and Southern Africa (MEFMI) combined Forum 2026 under the theme: Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics for Macroeconomic and Financial Policy.
The Forum provided a platform for policy makers and practitioners to share practical experiences and perspectives on how AI is transforming the financial sector, how to protect Central Banks reserves from spikes in foreign exchange transfers and building a path towards sustainable financing among other policy issues.
H.E Ambassador Betty Bigombe, High Commissioner
of the Republic of Uganda, accredited to Malaysia and Thailand also participated in the MEFMI Forum.

Parliament and the @IGGUganda not forgetting the @AntiGraft_SH must continue working together to close loopholes, strengthen oversight and ensure public resources serve their intended purpose.
Today, I received the Inspectorate of Government’s 55th Bi-Annual Performance Report (January–June 2026) from the Inspector General of Government, Hon. Lady Justice Aisha Naluzze Batala, and her team. Coming to Parliament with the whole team was unprecedented, and I thank them sincerely.
Corruption is not done in the forest. It is among us. It is also an industry, internationally known, and those in it are learning how to steal without being caught. The Inspectorate of Government (IG) must up its game, and Parliament will support the retooling of its staff, the filling of 168 vacant posts and the closing of legal gaps. The law is not static.
I have directed that the report be placed on tomorrow’s Order Paper so that the House can act on its findings without delay.
I have also directed the Clerk to furnish the IG with all parliamentary recommendations for action!
Inspectorate, we are here to support you.

In my remarks before signing on the contract, I invoked the spiritual dimension to this. Speaking at Mapeera House, named after Father Siméon Lourdel, who pioneered Catholicism in Buganda in 1879, I acknowldged Centenary Bank as the league’s Official Banking Partner for the 2026/27 season, making it the first indigenous bank to pioneer a partnership with the league in nearly six decades. The package includes Shs100 million in cash, Shs100 million in media promotion, Shs4 million for season awards and GonzaPay online ticketing. Coming after Government’s Shs5.5 billion boost, the deal signals rising corporate confidence in the league and promotes financial inclusion.
