These two games were cancelled by EA, BTW. Dead Space 4 would have featured the Necromorphs devastating Earth after their invasion, while Mass Effect: Universe would have featured a cold war following the Reaper War. Both were cancelled in favor of Battlefield and sports games.

We used to beat video games. Now some games expect us to check in every day like they're our second job. Battle passes. Daily challenges—limited-time rewards. I miss buying a game, finishing it, and feeling like I actually accomplished something.

One of my biggest gripes with modern metroidvanias is how they all feel the need to be 20+ hour romps in a genre that’s made to be casually speedrun-able I really hope Metroid Ravenous doesn’t fall into that same trap and is as tight on playtime as Dread was

Silksong is not linear. Not even close to being one. It's more linear than OG HK but that game is like the most not linear game ever made. Every game will be linear in comparison that game lol It's not like Team Cherry couldn't do it again. Its just them trying dffrnt thing
