The Plan:
1. Dismantle hostile 2nd-tier(ish) powers: Venezuela, Iran; Cuba?
2. Get neutral & allied 2nd-tier powers on side & in line (EU, Canada, some M.E. countries, some Asian countries)
3. Turn to China. Dare them to gamble their country's entire future over Taiwan.
Really, REALLY ironic that the native Central Americans were conquered/liberated/colonized by lighter, Spanish-speaking people.
Now Haitians are being liberated (/conquered?) by lighter, Spanish-speaking people—the ones who were colonized in the first place.
Assuming the math behind this holds up, and considering that these guys redid the original math and so it probably does, how can you argue that humanity isn't a product of God, and God created the Universe for us to explore and settle?
THE FERMI PARADOX HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED
for sixty years you have been sold a mystery. the universe is huge, the stars are old, somebody should have called by now, and the silence demands an explanation.
three researchers at the Future of Humanity Institute in Oxford went to check the arithmetic under the product.
what was in the old packaging: one number plugged into each slot of the Drake equation. a single value for the share of planets where life starts, a single value for the share where intelligence appears. point estimates.
the trouble is that our knowledge of those quantities is smeared across orders of magnitude. you cannot be uncertain by a factor of a billion and then write down one number for it.
so Anders Sandberg, Eric Drexler and Toby Ord fed in the whole spread of the uncertainty instead. they ran it twice, once from their own reading of the science, once from the range of published estimates in the astrobiology literature.
the output:
> probability we are alone in the Milky Way: from about half to near certainty
> probability we are alone in the observable universe: from about 40 to 85 percent
at those numbers the silence stops being strange. nothing is missing from the sky. no paradox left to explain, and no Great Filter needed to explain it.
i went in expecting to find the trick, because a paper that deletes a famous problem usually has one. what i came out with is a complaint about method. one number written where a range belongs, repeated for sixty years.
the fine print, and i am the one insisting on it. these are probabilities under the distributions the authors picked, so change the assumptions and the numbers move. the paper measures how little we know and it does not prove that nobody is out there. what it takes away is your right to be surprised that nobody has called.

SuperWoke and the Retard Right (original MAGA) sprouted in either party. SuperWoke had its 4 years with Biden, Retard Right had 2 good years with Trump afterwards.
Both parties are moving on with more serious people & positions. 'Populism' will exit with Trump.
I don't think it's really a bad thing that Texas, Florida, New York, and maybe more of the Northeast could be moving to be more purple.
We've had the same few swing states for the last 2 decades, and more purple states means more real campaigning and more centrist candidates.
If she and Talarico mean what they say when they say things like this, that's how you get a purple Texas for 2028 and beyond.
Texas Gov-Elect Gina Hinojosa: We Can Have Strong Working Relationship with Musk and His Companies — CNN
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The post truncates the quote. Per Reuters on the CNN interview, Hinojosa said Texas "can also have a strong working relationship with billionaire Elon Musk and his companies, but on her administration’s terms."

For all those people that are confused about what "rape" is, you saw a really good example of it with what happened to the Republicans last night.
Compared to what's coming in the MAGA-Conservative Republican Civil War, there has been basically no party infighting so far.
Day-after-midterms update:
1. More Venezuela coordination with US now, including US military potentially being deployed there. Expect Act III of the Iran war anytime between tonight and the end of the year. No movement in Cuba other than calls for Cubans to work w/the CIA.
2. EU starting to realize that massive imports and financing from China isn't as great as it seems, will push them towards the US camp whether they like it or not. Canada BTFO by EU on preferential non-EU trade treatment, may soon start to come back to the table.
Looks like it was either option C (with regards to the Iran conflict), or they're just genuinely flailing and did a terrible job coordinating foreign & domestic strategy...
If Trump cares at all about helping Republicans (whether they're MAGA or just "regular" Republicans)'s chances to win the presidency in 2028, he'll finish the Iran saga ASAP (hopefully bombing them to hell) and get it over and done with. And he'll take all the blame himself

I hope this is the final repudiation of True MAGA (the low-IQ, low-info retards on the Right). That means JD Vance.
Only hope for 2028 for Republicans is that Marco Rubio rises as the relatively undisputed leader of the party. He's become America First enough, but still much more palatable than Vance.
Man, imagine how the midterms would've worked out if instead of half-assing the Iran conflict for 8 months, Trump would've gone all-in and sorted it out completely in half the time.
I bet gas prices would be better and Republicans would've have gotten murdered tonight...
