Today is the anniversary of perhaps the worst day of my life; a day that threw into question my entire life and future. For a substantial part of the last year I ignored the disaster of it all and only recently did I begin the process of trying to move past it all. I look back a year later; my life is not exactly “back” but I am hopeful the next year will bring with it peace

This week we read the Torah portion of Lech Lecha. Beautifully, it is the first time in the Torah that the concept of the Jewish people appear Specifically through the trust in God, that all the trials and tribulations we face lead somewhere greater. This reading teaches us that we don’t need to know the whole plan. We just need to trust in ourselves — put one foot in front of the other — and we end up where we are supposed to. I hope everyone has a beautiful and restful weekend

distribution could end up being one of the biggest competitive advantages in AI as models get cheaper and open-source alternatives improve, i expect customer retention and distribution to matter a lot more OpenAI has already built massive consumer adoption, which creates opportunities to monetize beyond subscriptions through things like advertising the economics of AI labs are still evolving, but i think the value of owning the customer relationship is being underestimated

I just spent the last four days in Iraq. I am shocked at how easy it is for the media to sell a picture when reality couldn’t be more different. Even in war, life moves on. The people are Iraq are warm, kind, and considerate. Not once was danger felt, although there certainly were nerves in the group. In a total shock — I actually met a Zionist Iraqi, who had a Star of David tattooed on his neck. Was not expecting to see that at all. While I was there, I continued by tradition of wrapping tefillin. I may have been the only person that day in Iraq to perform that Mitzvah and it felt especially meaningful in light of the large Jewish community that Iraq used to have. I’ve come away with many stories, probably will make a video of it soon. But a main takeaway: there is tremendous opportunity for those willing to take risks in life. If you just show a little willingness to ignore the lies you’re fed, a whole world opens up to you.

Honestly, the most rewarding part of this trip to Singapore was having leaders across our industry come up to us in person and praise @MarketBubble This team has grinded every single day for 10 months straight. Zero vacation. Zero rest. Nothing changes. Up Only.

Now that I’ve pissed off every Turk I am formally putting out a request to give me recommendations for your city may she ever remain Turkish (Istanbul)
As I walk through Istanbul it strikes me that Turkey is one of the great examples historic abuse The Hagia Sofia, erected by Christians to serve as a central church, now seized and turned into a mosque just a few years ago. If a western country did this to a mosque (imagine Israel doing it to Al Aqsa) the world would explode in condemnation. Everywhere I turn I am reminded this was Roman. Greek before all. And the current inhabitants are nothing more than the latest, strongest people to claim the land. Honestly, I don’t have an issue with it. Mostly what I care about is this weird double standard we apply to Western nations. If we accept the rest of the world is filled with “the most recent winner” why can’t we accept that we ourselves are justified? Or should leftists be campaigning Turkey to return Anatolia to Greece? We expect nothing of others and everything of ourselves.

Everyone treating this with outrage is totally missing the point, the time for rhetoric is long past. If you are Jewish or care about the West, you must get involved with local politics. You must realize that without action, words only take us so far. In the same way that the left is organizing in a grassroots manner to spread their ideology, proponents of Western liberalism must do the same. It’s not okay to scream into the void. If you’re serious about changing the conversation, you have to work bottom up. — if you’re genuinely serious about it, reach out to me. We can reverse this stampede of illogic, but we have to be smart about it.
This day is profoundly painful for so many New Yorkers. It marks three years since the horrific war crimes of October 7. On that day, Hamas killed more than 1,100 Israelis and abducted 251 others. We grieve alongside our many friends and neighbors who still carry that unthinkable loss. The suffering did not begin nor end that day. It instead continued through the Israeli government’s devastating, ongoing genocide in Gaza, in which it has killed more than 74,000 Palestinians—including more than 21,000 children. Even since the so-called ceasefire, more than 1,400 Palestinians have been killed. That suffering has intensified with every Israeli bomb dropped on ambulances waiting outside hospitals, every drone strike targeting a residential building or journalist, and every shipment of food aid turned away at a border crossing. Many New Yorkers are reckoning with this unbearable grief, and we mourn alongside them – all while knowing that our tax dollars fund these war crimes. Three years later, we must refuse to accept a world in which occupation and apartheid continue, where war crimes are met with impunity, and our federal government continues its complicity with every arms shipment. To honor the dead, we must fight for a world in which every person can live with freedom, safety, and dignity.

The reason prediction markets have democrats in the lead is because the data and polling have them in the lead, and there isn’t enough capital willing to bet the current set of data is wrong
There are three explanations for why Polymarekt and Kalshi are so far off the mark: A. Users skew heavily towards younger degens who are betting ideologically on low-volumes B. Democrats are using as a cheap marketing mechanism to drive lower Republican turnout as $1-2m of volume within the context of $100m+ campaign budgets make it a no-brainer ROAS C. Trump admin is manipulating to keep the Chinese, Iranians and Europeans discombobulated allowing them to think Trump will be a lame duck for the next two years I’m partial to option B but we’ll probably never know 🤷‍♂️

Never felt this energy at a crypto conference. Finally building real things. Excited to release the interviews we got here — tons of alpha. (1) There is still a lot of misallocated capital leftover in this space, bullish for real projects (2) People are mostly focused on long term investing, which is a change of pace (except for the meme coin hype beasts) (3) Less buzzwords, a lot talk about “what we’ve done wrong”. Industry seems to be learning slowly (4) A lot of repeat speakers this year. I think indicating we care about quality; not as many grifters on stage (5) Privacy is the repeat consensus theme. Bullish $zec $near $vvv (6) Noting financial infra companies like Stripe have a presence. We are in the building stage (7) Quantum computing being discussed — taken more seriously. This is good for the industry as a whole (8) I think we’ve finally solved product. Now it’s all about distribution. No more talk of scaling or interfaces. It’s about getting in front of people now

Being at a conference reminds me that the world is infinitely more complicated than AI doomers believe Thousands of people are involved with every aspect of this conference. AV set up, furniture organization, security, scheduling, planning, photography, I mean it goes on The real world is important. We are going to need people for a long time (can’t believe I need to say that)
