although she didnโt win, she inspired hope for the first time in a lot of working class floridians. itโs rare to see such a wide breadth of voters so enthused about a candidate here and it was nice to let ourselves dream of the futures we deserve.
took my mom to the polls to vote for @AngieNixon !! fighting for the florida we deserve ๐ฉท

Itโs been a record-breaking year for DSA, and weโre not slowing down any time soon. With over 130,000 members, weโre the largest socialist organization the United States has seen since the 1910s โ and weโre growing every day.
Join us this Thursday, November 5th at 8pm ET / 5pm PT as we reflect on this historic midterm cycle and hear more about what comes next (and how you can get involved).
love to see it ๐๐น

Working class peopleโs lives are on the ballot on Tuesdayโtheir healthcare, their rent, their bills.
Haley Stevens just betrayed them by endorsing the very Republican she said she wanted to run against.

NEW: On Friday, dockworkers at 111 ports in 22 countries and regions on five continents will stop work in a coordinated strike against war, according to the most recent information from the organizing unions.
More than 25 dockworkersโ unions have now signed on, from Marseille to Mumbai, Hamburg to Montevideo, Melbourne to Oakland. Days ago the count stood at about 100 ports in 17 countries, and that figure doesnโt include the dozens of unions in other sectors that have pledged support. Their demand is simple: no weapons and no military cargo through their ports. Nearly everything the world ships passes through the docks, and without the workers who load and unload it, nothing moves.
In France, the main dockersโ union says the countryโs ports will be 95% shut. Italy, India, Greece and Turkey face 24-hour strikes, and Morocco and Cyprus will see stoppages of up to two hours, with rallies planned in port cities around the world. In Greece, metalworkers, ship-repair workers and young people are joining the dockers, and in the US, ILWU Local 10 is striking in Oakland and San Francisco. The unions are working from the Istanbul Declaration, signed in May, with each one deciding for itself how to take part. They are also fighting for their own jobs, against cuts from automation and for contracts, raises, shorter hours and safety.
The unions point to escalating wars in Ukraine and the Middle East and the danger of a generalized war. They condemn Israelโs new crimes in Hebron, carried out with the backing of the US, NATO and the EU. Israelโs lockdown of the city is now in its sixth day, with more than 3,000 Palestinians displaced, according to the UN. Palestinian unions have endorsed Fridayโs action.
In Italy, the fight has spilled beyond the docks. The union USB has called for a nationwide general strike. Last night, the Italian government ordered transport workers back on the job last night. USB said it would defy the order and accept the steep penalties.
The unions are calling on workers and young people everywhere to stand with the dockworkers, saying โPorts for peace and the peoples, not launching pads for war.โ
Iโm reporting from Calabria, Italy, and I will be in Genoa tomorrow ahead of the strike to report on the ground during the mobilzation.

Seconding this as an NPC member and full time nurse who used up their 30 minute lunch break logged into Zoom. This was the first full NPC meeting Iโve missed this term, and still I believe that the body that deliberated and voted today is no less legitimate.

In just a few weeks the midterms will either empower American Fascism or once again give Democrats power but no will to stand up for working people. After these elections YDSA must lead! 1/3๐งต

Raman was pitched as an LA Zohran. Sheโs not. She wont defend BDS. She canโt even explain what socialism is. It was wildly irresponsible of the chapter to endorse someone so ill prepared to represent DSA in such an important position.
Is L.A. mayoral candidate Nithya Raman a capitalist?
"I'm a capitalist and I'm also a Democratic Socialist...we need to make sure capitalism works without harm to workers... to poor people."
She says the DSA is a "big tent" but she disagrees with members who call to abolish police, prisons and the Senate.
