Fledgling 'Cities': Lira City's total Rd network is 428km. Earth roads are 270km[63%],60km gravelled roads& 24km paved bituminous standard roads. Subsistence agriculture-dependent communities are larger than the urbanized area. With its 246,000 population, poverty isn't abstract.
Bro,l tried simple jogging 2km last weekend and,l nearly fainted. Ndugu @TonyNatif had advised that Tusker Lite & Gordon's Pink would energize myself, however, it turned nearly hospital case.😁

“In the next few months, we shall have a combined outlook of the Uganda we want to see. We are studying a consociational democracy agreement,” Gen. Salim Saleh says while addressing heads of parliamentary committees in Kapeeka.

Honoured to be recognised and awarded as a Global Ambassador for Elevate Africa. This recognition is more than an award, it is a reminder of the responsibility we carry to inspire change, amplify African voices, and contribute to a future where Africa’s potential is fully realised.
I am grateful for the invitation, the trust, and the opportunity to be part of a movement committed to elevating Africa and its people. I look forward to using this platform to champion positive change, empower communities, and represent the spirit of African leadership with purpose and integrity.
The journey continues, and the work ahead matters even more.
Africa’s story is ours to shape. The future is ours to elevate.

I returned from Teso on Tuesday. There is no tension. If Hon. Ecweru is looking for whatever favours, let him ask for it directly. Involving vulnerable people (arrow boys), who they had long used and abandoned won't work. Leave the UPDF do it's work and account to Ugndans.
UPDATE: Tensions are mounting across the Teso sub-region after former Works minster Musa Ecweru, a senior commander of the auxiliary vigilante force known as the "Arrow Boys," issued a public ultimatum demanding that retired former Deputy Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), Lt Gen Peter Elwelu, surrender to recognised authorities or face a coordinated hunt.

Investors want political and economic stability. Current endorsement might show a vote of no confidence politically which isn't good.
Five months after the election, ministers are already endorsing another presidential aspirant. Could these political games undermine confidence in the sitting president, scare away investors, and undo 40 years of progress?

Compelling, clear, and credible; this is how development comms should be like!. Your persistent efforts is appreciated by all the Ugandans. @OdrekRwabwogo
We prefer a positive& propositional approach; not these, "we're gonna kill this ....,or hang an innocent citizen".
When a farmer raises an animal to 400 kg over 18 months and brings it to the abattoir, most of us assume the business is meat. It is more than that.
That single slaughterhouse holds nine factories: bone meal, leather, tallow, horns and hooves, manure, biogas, pharmaceutical ingredients, blood meal, and only then the meat. About 150 kg of the animal is what we sell. The rest is value we abandon.
The cost of abandoning it shows up in our import bill. We bring in close to a million kilograms of leather goods, 3.7 million kilograms of soap and candles from Kenya, and more than 300,000 tonnes of fertiliser every year. Much of this could come from animals we already slaughter.
The jobs case is just as clear. Five jobs on each of the eight by-product lines gives 40 jobs per animal. An abattoir handling 150 animals a day carries 6,000 jobs.
This thinking is the foundation of how we at PACEID (@paceidug) approach value addition across the 13 sectors we work on. Each sector is a value chain to be built at home, so that Uganda exports higher-value products rather than raw commodities.
None of it happens in pieces, though. It takes ecosystem thinking: a large enough herd, land, energy, standards, skills and aggregation centres, planned together, with farmers connected to markets, finance and government.
Argentina once fed Europe with its beef and missed the window to build the value chain. Our task is to make sure Uganda does not miss its own.
Next week: We look at fish value chain.

Faith and business are not opposites. In this address to the Richfaith Finance Seminar I explain how an entrepreneur combines what God put inside him with the season outside him, why our milk plant gave its margin back to farmers, and why I worry less about artificial intelligence and more about authentic intelligence. Attention is a currency.
The best fortress is to be found in the love of the wananchi. Even if you build fortresses, they won't help when the wananchi hate you.

Ndugu, you're a Monetary Economist as well. Jjambo Sir!.
Satan, on the contrary, is thin, ascetic and a fanatical devotee of logic. He reads Machiavelli, Ignatius of Loyola, Marx and Hegel; he is cold and unmerciful to mankind, out of a kind of mathematical mercifulness. He is damned always to do that which is most repugnant to him:
to become a slaughterer, in order to abolish slaughtering, to sacrifice lambs so that no more lambs may be slaughtered, to whip people with knouts so that they may learn not to let themselves be whipped, to strip himself of every scruple in the name of a higher scrupulousness, ..
and to challenge the hatred of mankind because of his love for it; an abstract and geometric love".
