The successful conclusion of the 7th CICA Summit in Baku, #Azerbaijan 🇦🇿 marks an important milestone in advancing regional dialogue, mutual trust and cooperation across Asia. Key outcomes: ✅ Adoption of the Baku Declaration and Statement on Occupational Safety and Health; ✅ Lao PDR’s full CICA membership; ✅ Extension of Azerbaijan’s Chairmanship for 2026–2028, in recognition of its effective leadership; ✅ Appointment of Ambassador Sultan Hajiyev as CICA Secretary General for 2026–2030; ✅ Cambodia’s ratification completing the process for the entry into force of the Convention on the Privileges and Immunities of the CICA Secretariat; ✅ Renewed commitment to multilateralism, connectivity, peace and security in Asia. Today, a father and his son have been severely maimed in landmine explosion in Jabrayil district, bringing the number of landmine victims in #Azerbaijan to 4️⃣4️⃣3️⃣ since the end of the 2020-war. This horrific incident once again demonstrates the deadly and indiscriminate threat posed by landmines, which continue to claim innocent lives and inflict devastating injuries. Azerbaijan strongly condemns the continued danger posed by landmines and calls for greater international attention for mine action in Azerbaijan.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan @Bayramov_Jeyhun addressed the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly 🇺🇳 in New York. Key highlights from the address: ✅ Importance of reinvigorated, reformed multilateral system based on strict adherence to international law, sovereign equality, and non-interference. ✅ Urgent need for UN Security Council reform to deliver equitable representation for developing nations. ✅ De facto peace achieved between Azerbaijan and Armenia following the Washington Peace Summit, tangible economic dividends of peace agenda, including unilateral lifting transit restrictions, initiating bilateral trade in certain areas. ✅ The need to eliminate remaining obstacles to sign the Peace Agreement. ✅ Successful post-conflict rehabilitation and reconstruction, returning over 90,000 citizens to liberated territories. ✅ Ongoing threat of landmine, over 400 casualties since 2020 and 3,500 over the past 30 years, while highlighting the formal adoption of humanitarian demining as Azerbaijan's 18th National SDG. ✅ Call for international support to clarify the fate of nearly 4,000 missing persons to advance post-conflict reconciliation and accountability. ✅ Azerbaijan’s trans-regional connectivity leadership, driving a 90% cargo volume increase along the Middle Corridor via Baku Port and the Baku–Tbilisi–Kars railway. ✅ Importance of advancing the "Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity" (TRIPP) to unlock unimpeded multimodal connectivity between mainland Azerbaijan and its Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. ✅ Azerbaijan’s efforts in expansion of regional digital connectivity through the Trans-Caspian Digital Silk Way fiber-optic network. ✅ Azerbaijan’s strong economic transformation, noting a threefold GDP increase and a poverty reduction from 49% to 5%. ✅ Azerbaijan’s role as a reliable natural gas supplier to 16 countries and rapid clean energy transition, scaling 6 GW of solar and wind projects to generate 40% of electricity from renewables by 2030. ✅ Global impact of Azerbaijan’s climate leadership at COP29, including tripling global climate finance targets, operationalizing Article 6 carbon markets, advancing the Loss and Damage Fund, and organizing the UNFCCC Climate Week. ✅ Azerbaijan's contribution to the global urban agenda by hosting WUF13. ✅ Urgent ecological concerns over the declining Caspian Sea levels, call for collective and sustained littoral action. ✅ Azerbaijan's leadership in institutional innovation by sharing its globally recognized ASAN and DOST models, which inspired a UN Human Rights Council resolution—co-sponsored by over 100 states. ✅ Over $400 million in humanitarian, economic, and technical assistance provided since 2020 to help more than 140 countries, prioritizing Small Island Developing States (SIDS) and African partners.
