We can have our own entirely local AI assistants for research and work.
This is CIRU AMDots: a voice interface for a general-purpose agent team, with the AI running locally on one AMD Ryzen AI Halo.
AMDots is your own little AI crew, brought to life as colorful dots. Give the main one an idea and watch its workers spring into action, exploring, researching and creating together. Keep chatting while they work, then see what they’ve made, from useful discoveries to a narrated video.
The brain is MiniCPM 4.7 Ultra , CIRU HALO AGENT, my custom Q8 conversion and optimized serving stack built on OpenBMB’s vision-language MoE:
35 billion total parameters / 3 billion active per token
262,144-token model context limit
Custom Ciru vLLM + AMD ROCm+DSpark
On the 395:
~1,969 prompt tokens/sec and 40.5 generated tokens/sec with a roughly 64K-token prompt
122.8 aggregate generated tokens/sec across eight concurrent vision/tool requests
Those are separate model-serving benchmarks; the eight-request figure is combined throughput across requests. Model, runtime and benchmark details.
The voice stack uses the rest of the hardware too:
GPU: conversation and worker-model inference
CPU: Moonshine Small Streaming English speech recognition, 123M parameters
CPU + NPU: Pocket TTS, 100M parameters, with recurrent feed-forward operations offloaded to the XDNA 2 NPU
Speech synthesis stays off the GPU, leaving that compute available for the agents. Voice and workers share the language model, with live conversation taking priority.
Local model inference, a visual agent workspace, and research that can become something you can watch and hear. All on a small AMD desktop.
AMD provided the Ryzen AI Halo system used for this project.
Ryzen AI Max+ 395 (Strix Halo), 64GB, 1 TB, 180hz display, $2999 - Get it while supplies last. Awesome gaming and local AI.

FSR 4.1 for CPUs/APUs, Radeon 6000 series and much more related news!
As a lifelong gamer, I think deeply about how to make gaming better and more accessible for everyone across consoles, desktops, laptops, handhelds, and the developers who build the games.
We power over a billion gaming devices around the world. It’s a responsibility we care deeply about.
Today, five drops.
1) FSR 4.1 is coming to Radeon RX 6000 series graphics cards. Tuned and optimized from the 6900 series down to the 6400 class.
For the first time, FSR 4.1 is coming to APUs.
2) All Gorgon Halo and Strix Halo for your mini desktops and mobile workstations.
3) All Gorgon and Strix Ryzen 9 for your laptops.
4) All Z2E and Z2A for your handhelds and for gamers on the go.
5) FSR 4.1 is coming to @XBOX. Optimized for @ASUS_ROG Xbox handhelds and Xbox Series X | S.
We’re still building.
FSR Redstone is now in more than 400 games on Radeon 9000 series graphics cards.
FSR Frame Generation gets more consistent frame pacing, for smoother gameplay.
Ray Regeneration is coming to more games.
And soon, FSR is coming to Vulkan. Another way for developers to bring it into their games.
And don’t worry, we are working hard to bring FSR to more APUs in the future.
Enjoy!

We're opening pre-orders for the 192GB Framework Desktop this Wednesday morning Pacific Time. This has AMD's new Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495, an open-end x4 PCIe slot, a pre-installed Noctua fan, and an optional pre-built config with Fedora pre-loaded.
Nice!
Everyone is asking their Opus 5.5 to "make a dynamic 15-second motion graphics video that shows what an incredible motion designer you are, like it's your showreel for a résumé. go all out."
So I asked my local Qwen Flash on my Strix Halo the same thing. No extra tools skills or instructions, just loaded it up in OMP and gave the prompt. It identified as the harness I guess but this is pretty good. Pure code.
The PC is about to become a lot more personal.
Today, I’m excited to announce a partnership between @AMD and @perplexity_ai to bring Perplexity Portable Computer to AMD Ryzen AI Halo.
This is more than running AI locally. We’re creating a new kind of agentic PC that can understand your work, reason through problems, and take action on your behalf, right on the device where your work happens.
With one click, users can bring powerful AI models and agents to their PC, work with local files and applications, and run recurring workflows on device. When a task needs more advanced research or reasoning, Portable can tap into the cloud with permission.
Your models. Your agents. Your data. Your stack.
For decades, the PC has been a tool for getting things done. Personal AI changes that. The PC can now become a true partner in the work, helping turn information into insight and ideas into action.
Big thank you to @AravSrinivas and the entire Perplexity team for making this possible.
The PC transformed how we work and create. Now we’re creating the platform for the era of Personal AI.
And this is just the beginning.
Wonderful morning in New York! Honored to join @FLOTUS and @lynnmartin at @NYSE for the launch of IMPERIA, and to speak with @LizClaman about the future of AI and leadership. Great energy in the room and a thoughtful conversation.
